Mine came on from a cold. Cold started last Wednesday, sinus infection started Saturday.

Blook, yellow green mucus only in morning since then, but today i feel pressure in my face and teeth.

Took antihistamine, sinus cold medicine and ibuprofen all day yesterday and feels worse.

I dont have fever, but dont want this to get worse.

Here's the sinus regimen my doctor makes me take if I get an infection… I hope this helps:

If your symptoms haven't resolved, or are starting to resolve, after 5-7 days since initial.

I go to "doc in the box" after three days. Get a shot and ask for something stronger than a Z Pac.

Best advice from a Dr I ever got:

"Suffer through them for a year or two.
Your body will rebuild its immunity to the allergens and you'll be fine."

It worked, and I was getting steriods and antibiotics once or twice a year before that.
(Which isn't good)

When it starts to significantly effect my sleep

Normally, z-pack and maybe a steroid shot and in a few days I feel much better

FYI, this 100% works.
I used to suffer from a few incredibly horrific sinus infections 3-4+ times a year. Took about a year “off” from going to the Dr. for them and just suffered for a few days, and haven’t had one in a good 3ish years.

If the vaccine didn't work, it's time to go.

He told me that getting steriods that often affects your joints in a very negitive way, when you're older.

He's a pretty bright guy, what with his "degrees" and all, so I gave it a shot.

This. I was so sick through most of college that I only had “good weeks” between being sick. At some point I just bit the bullet and had a really shitty year, which resolved that situation.

In the meantime, look into anti-inflammatory food (Tumeric) and maybe consider a neti pot. Just don’t get used to using the neti pot all of the time.

Just deal with it the best you can. I had one for about 3-4 months a few years back and never had one again

Never, just take Advil and sleep. Your body will fight it off

If the pain doesn't resolve in a week, then I'd go to an ENT doc. They'll give you some advice. Try to do what you can to avoid surgery, but if you need it you need it.

FWIW, I'd get a Neti Pot and follow the directions.

I tried letting the infection go once and it never would resolve so I had to take antibiotics anyway. I continued to have 2-3 sinus infections per year until I started taking Singulair. Now I only have one every couple of years or so.

Definitely go get antibiotics for what is most likely a viral infection. It won’t do shite for you except make you “feel” like it’s working, but that’s what’s important.

Affects sleep-take medicine for symptoms. If you let it linger it could develop into something worse.

Go and get the NeilMed sinus flush kit at cvs/walgreens. Flush that crap out, and you will start to feel better.

I went to the walk in clinic a few years ago because I figured I had strep throat. The lobby was packed and the guy in front of me told the receptionist his reason for the visit was "I have the sniffles".
