Vance and Johnson have demanded Biden step down, claiming he's not fit to be President if he’s not fit to run.
Aren’t they therefore conceding that Kamala is competent to lead?
If I were Vance, I would take the approach “I would normally say Biden should step down, but Kamala is even more incompetent”.
What does he get by having Biden resign the presidency?

I dont think anyone is arguing she isnt "competent".

You're missing the point:
The people in authority are not accountable to anyone. At least with a "President" that can be held accountable, Harris is better than Biden. In all other respects, there is no difference between the 2 in policy, personnel decision, EOs, etc. from now through the election and to January.

This isn’t the gotcha you seem to think it is.
SOMEBODY has to be at least the titular leader for the next 6 months. If he’s not mentally or physically able, then it just happens that she’s next in line of succession. It’s that simple. It’s no commentary on her qualifications. She’s the next warm body. She’s really no different from him, she’s just not dying.
