The surveillance camera video of the February drowning of a woman in one of Las Vegas Athletic Club’s pools has been released and provides more clarity on how the death occurred.

Letica Triplett, 58, drowned on Feb. 4 in the pool at LVAC’s North Decatur location. The video released Wednesday by the Southern Nevada Health District shows Triplett entering the pool area for a morning exercise. She was in the pool for about an hour before she was pulled out by other members of the gym.

The video is redacted and only shows where Triplett was in the pool. Her face is blurred, and so are the faces of other people in the pool area.

Why in the hell would she ever attempt to swim by herself being so mobility impaired?

I assume everyone that walked by was looking at their phone?

Holy shite that's disturbing.

Did those dipshits really not notice she was drowning? One of them walked right next to her.

Oh they noticed her. One prick walks right past her as she’s struggling. They just didn’t care.

My swimmers get up into Livvy Dunne and they won't notice if the Earth vaporizes.

The pool isn't even 3 ft deep. Can't even imagine how she wasnt able to simply turn her body to stand or even relax on her knees. It's like her belly was a flotation device and wouldn't let her get upright.

She was physically impaired. She could barely walk down the steps into the pool.

And yeah, the body fat didn't help.

"playing" in the pool can look a lot like this version of drowning. it's not like she was at the bottom of the pool or anybody could expect an adult to be capable of drowning in waist deep pool with her hand grabbing the side and a handrail.

From the video that's what it looked like to me.

I watched the video. She was grabbing both handrails, the dude comes to the steps, she moves both arms to the same handrail when he gets to the steps as if she notices him and is letting him go by, then goes back to grabbing both handrails after he walks by.

Probably didn't think she was drowning since it appeared she noticed him and let him go by, and thought it was just some crazy lady doing crazy lady things in the pool.

I'm sure it's hard to process someone drowning in 3 feet of water when they're over 5 feet tall.

This and being right by steps could make some think she was playing around especially if she wasn’t asking for help or something verbally to relay being in distress. If someone is right there the entire time they should have noticed how long it was going on, but someone walking by briefly might have thought she was just doing that for seconds and in less than 3 feet of water by the hand rail and the steps which outside of a small kid is not a typical drowning depth or area.

The coroner’s report lists drowning as cause of death , but with the coronary issue listed a heart attack may have been what caused the drowning as the club has mentioned. That would better explain not being able to get up or get out.
