Wanted to get away from ingredients for a round and do a theme.

This does not need to be food an actual gas station you know sells necessarily, but more.. If you owned a gas station, what homemade concoction would you be famous for?

No set parameters. Cook what you want, and the votes will decide. If you can be convincing that it fits with the theme, go for it! I'd say keep the theme in mind before preparing like.. beef bourguignon.

See y'all in July!

Not that I participate in these (I love being along for the ride though), but this has massive potential! I'd love to see a gas station challenge made from actual raw gas station ingredients, not using "hot bar" branded items like Krispy Crunchy Chicken or already fried or ready-to-eat foods. Boudin, sausage, frozen burritos and the like off the shelf could all be OK.

I would say it needs to be easy to eat on the go. Something like meat/crawfish pies, boudin egg rolls, etc.

So gas station and not specifically “Louisiana gas station”? I know of a couple of items found at gas stations outside of Louisiana.

This would allow Buc-ees to fit in. Homemade beaver nuggets? Haha!

“On a stick” or “fair food” would be a fanatic challenge.

This weekend, I was craving an egg salad sandwich. During the 90's and early 00's, I could never walk into a gas station without getting a Mrs. Drake's egg salad sandwich and Barq's red cream soda. Those meals would power me through my dominant performances on and off the football fields and rugby pitches.

For you nerds outside of Nola, here's a brief video about Mrs. Drake's. Our baw, Tom Fitzmorris, was even a fan.

Egg salad is one of life's simple indulgences. You can put that shite on crackers, toast, potato chips, or just eat it from the bowl with a spoon.

All that was needed to make the salad was eggs, onion, celery, mayo, salt and peppers. I whipped that shite all together, and added mayo slowly into the bowl. Nobody wants to eat runny egg salad, unless you're a freak.

Once it was mixed, I threw it in the fridge for an hour to let it cool and thicken. I then grabbed some white bread and threw a little chili crunch on it for a little heat and texture. I like the way soft white bread and egg salad stick to the roof of your mouth.

Since I didn't have red cream soda, I decided to pair my luxury sandwich with a martini on the rocks. It was outstanding. I ate another shortly thereafter.

Stay fat, my friends.

Love a good egg salad sandwich.

If you're an olive fan, try it with green olives. Delicious.
