Why won't Trump use his sway to build a viable 3rd Party?

To state one of the most obvious truths ever: there is a negligible difference in the 2 parties.

Trump seems to espouse a paleoconservative philosophy (or one that leans very strongly that way, anyway). Whatever your views of him are, there is no doubt he has a large, active base.

Many people from both sides are feeling more and more alienated by their parties and many crave a government run according to pragmatism instead of dogmatism.

A party that holds to anti-interventionism, a sensible immigration policy, capitalism instead of corporatism, and more traditional Western values would seemingly break the 2 party hold on American politics.

Would he better serve the country by focusing his efforts on something like this?

Because MAGA has taken over the party.

Because it's MUCH more difficult to establish a new political party brand than it is to co-op an existing brand.

The necons co-opted the Republican Party from the late '60s to 2016. MAGA is co-opting it now.

No need to build an all new building for business when there’s one already constructed for sale. Fire the bad employees and hire better ones.

Because the RINO party and Marxist party could likely fund a way to stop a third party from becoming a reality. Just like tea party.

No, because most Independents aren't morons.

Only if we had runoffs in Presidential elections. Perot siphoned off enough conservative vote to give the Presidency to Clinton.

I remember Ross Perot giving the White House to plurality winning Bill Clinton.

Third parties work well in a parliamentary system though.

I think the most obvious answer is that a 3rd party:

a. Has never won
b. Cannot win now
c. Will never win in the future.

Other than that I think it's a great idea.

He had taken over the GOP.

Why does he need to start a 3rd party?

Bad idea. Take over the GOPe. The olds are aging out. Take the established machinery over.

Recipe for conservative disaster. Split the GOP in two and give them ten years to let the dust settle. Meanwhile the bad guys run it all.
Trump is too old to be the torch bearer for the next ten years. It will take a transformational figure you may not even know about yet.

R and D are one party. If he went libertarian or outside of them indy do you think they would change in holding the DC power and the purse strings?

the DC critters have extreme power of oversight and they sit on their hands because they are in on getting Trump.

Because a 3rd party will never exist. Though if Trump did it back in 2016 he could have had enough votes to get fed $$$ and we would be headed to a 3 party system.

Too late now

The problem is the system only supports politicians being bought and corrupted. There is nothing that is pushing the average person running for office to do the right thing. They will eventually fall in line with the powers behind the scenes.

Perot and Trump are billionaires that don’t necessarily care about the money. That is the difference.

The Bush family, the Clinton family, the Obama family, and the Biden family are career government families that became super rich by corruption in government.

Step 1. Win the election in November.

Step 2. Implement changes.

Step 3. America is great again.

Gotta take care of step one before anything else.
