How many people have gotten 15 years out of a car/truck?

I mean also as a daily driver.
I'm not trying to insinuate taht 15 years is some incredible feat but usually people get bored enough to convince themselves why its a sound financial move to buy the next expensive a-hole to drive up in the driveway.
what type of vehicle and mileage did you get to?

I see 15+ year old cars on the road all the time. Cars are more reliable than ever these days.

Toyota or Honda. All of them

I have a 2001 f-250 still going at 300k
I have a 2011 Kia Rio with 100k it was my moms when she died in 2022
I have a 1965 international farmall cub that mows like it was 1966
Buy used. But money in it here and there, and those older models will last.

I have a 99 4Runner with 110k miles that still runs great. Not my daily driver anymore but it used to be and I held on to it.

Take care of them and don't worry about driving an "old" vehicle and there is no reason you can't get that kind of longevity. My current daily 16+ right now. Drinks oil and gas but it still runs fine.

Yes, I got a little over 15 on a Honda Pilot. My favorite car I've ever driven.

2000 Ford Excursion v10 we use as a camper puller and extra car. Never let us down. 190k miles. At one point, when our 4 kids were little, mrs rattle drove it as a daily driver because it held 8 souls and all the gear/groceries you wanted

Got a 13 year old Nissan Frontier. It’s has check engine light on (for about 100k miles, I forget what they said it was but my county doesn’t do emissions testing so no care). It’s got 260k miles. 5 speed, 4 cylinder. I’d drive it to California from Georgia without a worry.

Not 15 years, but i'm on year 10 of my 2015 Fusion. Bought initially as a commuter but can't bring myself to buy anything new.
Sitting at 177k miles and no real issues overall. When it comes time, I'll be buying a Toyota and probably keep it for 10 years also

Scruffy got 16 years out of his 06 Honda Civic.
Finally gave it up last year and bought a GMC Canyon.
Sold the Civic for $2500. Still ran well and got pretty decent gas mileage.

These aren’t daily’s, but easily could be.
95 S-10 with 330k. Bought used in 98.
94 Dodge 1500 with 350k. I paid $100 for it several years ago. True story.
94 Mustang GT with 110k. I’ve owned it almost a decade.
98 Cherokee with 230k.
2000 Wrangler with 170k
All are in great shape and drive fine. A little maintenance goes a long ways.
And my actual daily is a 2013 Altima with 205k on it now. It’s rough cause I’ve had a couple deer commit suicide into it, but still runs good and gets 36 mpg. I don’t need a truck to drive back and forth to work.

I have an 05 Z71 extended cab I bought brand new. Has 215k or so and has lived in 5 states and been through 2 divorces.
Once my stepdaughter turned 16, I thought she would want my wife's car, but she wanted to drive the old Z71. So I bought a new Tundra for my daily driver.
Now she's off at college and the past two years, the Z71 is my daily driver and the Tundra just pulls my boat.

Maybe as a hand-me-down between various family members…
I had a Pontiac my dad got while I was in HS that I got at some point in college and continued to drive until I got a new car from a relative’s estate. It was probably about 13-15 years old at the time I moved it.

I had a 2000 gmc truck for 18 years. But the original 5.3 motor lasted to 165k and I put in a 6.0L. Had 307k miles when sold.. Also had the transmission rebuild twice.

Have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 with 175k miles. Doesn't meet the 15 year mark but close. Have only replaced relatively minor items like water pump, heater core, windshield wiper motor, & batteries. No major items yet. Doesn't leak oil and would trust it for long drives.
Also have a 2012 BMW 328i with 115k miles. No major or minor repairs.

Just sold my 2007 Sierra. Little over 130k miles. No real issues. Started getting a small oil leak, very minimal. Wife had to convince me to get a newer one. I obliged.

I've put 200K miles on two different vehicles, and I don't travel for work. That's just basic city commuting, hunting/fishing, and a few vacations I didn't fly.
