Of course they are.
In late Rome the Legions picked the emperors, killing them if they displeased them. Why would our empire be any different?

They had to have something to threaten him with or else he would have pardoned Assange before he left office.
This is a fair point.
Who's to say that they didn't threaten his life or the lives of his children though?
"Sure would be sad to see another JFK incident, wouldn't it Mr. President? Oh, you don't care? Perhaps Mitch McConnell didn't care either until after his wife's sister was found murdered in her car. Ever heard of a guy named Seth Rich?"
Assange has the goods to bring EVERYONE down, and in order to keep him behind bars, I believe that there's absolutely nothing "off-limits" for the establishment machine.

I wonder if Putin told him this when Tucker was in the glorious Moscow supermarket.

Does interviewing Putin automatically make a journalist a Putin supporter or does that only apply to Carlson?

The way Tucker did it? Yes. He was no different than John Reed.

Tucker Carlson doesn't believe in what Tucker Carlson says. Anyone who is still buying what he is selling I have a mound of gold under the outhouse at camp I'll sell you. Dude is a spoiled little whiny brat, a charlatan a fruitcake. If you are so blindsided by politics that you've fallen for this guy you need to take a step back. No adult should be stupid enough for this guy to be relevant anymore. Thanks "conservatives" , and "MAGA" You are making America dumb as the test scores in southern states show. This is a foolish statement by a guy who knows nothing about anything but duping brain dead "Republicans" out of their time and money. Jesus

I mean.. of course they are.
First step is "working with them."
Second step is bribe them with money, pleasure, power.
Third step is personal blackmail (many times related to step 2)
Fourth step is threaten family.
There's no other reason that nearly EVERYONE in Congress couldn't care less about doing their job and representing their constituents.

If every Republican and non-insane Democrat (both of them) voted against FISA, what are the intel agencies going to do? Plant kiddie porn on 250 members of the House?
Soft Republicans have become world-class excuse makers.
No. Choose, one, ruin them, then after the suicide threaten the other 249.

Meh... not doubting Tucker, but... that sounds too much like the plot of an episode of Bones or NCIS or something.
Yes, of Bones and NCIS episodes were based on Hoover’s FBI, 1932-1972 (and likely beyond)

They have six ways from Sunday. If you don’t have dirt then one of your loved ones probably does. They know it all. If that doesn’t work they can easily create dirt or entanglements that can used. If that doesn’t work then there are any number of accidents that can happen to you or a loved one.

Unless you have no secrets, the State now owns you. That's the power of State surveillance.
And it’s nigh impossible for a career politician to rise top the top WITHOUT amassing SOME secrets - secrets that the CIA/NSA WILL discover.
Which is why we need term limits and non-career politicians.
Won’t Happen, but it’s a nice thought.

What’s with this cringey new batch of 2024 posters who are coming in hot against Trump?

Remember when his church was raided while he was in DC and his wife was there?
A suspicious package was also sent there right after he got the speakership.
Shreveport Times: Package Sent to Johnsons Church
Lots of questions.
