I think it was Jack Walker. As said he ended up not being a miss, but it was believed to be a miss at the time.

But he’s there because his dad played for DVH at Northwestern State.
That being said, do you know if LSU recruited him? Also, has Haughton ever been an LSU hotbed for recruits?

People are currently shitting on Neal and Kling who had similar draft stature out of high school but haven’t been on campus as long as Stovall has been at Arkansas
Yep, its crazy how people dont connect the dots on experience
Lots of casuals on this board.

Stovall is the best 2nd in the nation this year but he was hurt for a big part of his career and hasn't done much until this year.
Posted on 3/31/24 at 5:07 pm to Riolobo
He’s not starting over Doughty or Dugas the last 3 years at 2nd.
Posted on 3/31/24 at 5:07 pm to Herman
He's not even top 3 2nd baseman in the country
Travis bazana ring a bell??

We got 3 in 2006. None of them panned out except Forrest after he went to Arkansas.

Barely. He had a connection with DVH and PM slow played him.
That said, he was 90% going to the bigs until the 11th hour.

Again, had he come to LSU out of high school, he would've left LSU by now.
Like Kling left? Like Helmer left? You don’t know if he would have left. But had he stayed, and developed as he has at Arkansas, he would be starting and helping this team.
The point to take away from this is that players tend to get better with time, and we should relax a little about the guys on this team who haven’t yet met expectations. They still might.

Exactly, and the softball team is showing that this year, and next year will be brutal for them.

Exactly. Nobody can say if he would have left. Bottom line is a kid from Louisiana played a major role in sweeping us this weekend.

He’s been there for 4 or 5 years now and this thread has been done every year
Posted on 3/31/24 at 8:19 pm to Jack Daniel
Wrong. In his 3rd year.

And all 3 were at Benton prior to that.

We talking about Forrest, Rhodes and Jackson?
I don't think LSU ever really had a shot with Stovall. He was either getting drafted or going to Arkansas and made that clear pretty early.
Posted on 3/31/24 at 8:37 pm to Riolobo
This weekend was his natty.
Posted on 3/31/24 at 9:07 pm to Riolobo
Paul Manieras or how ever you spell his last name.

Like Kling left?
Kling is in his second year and knew coming into his second year that the starting CF job was his.

Like Helmer left?
Injuries.

You don’t know if he would have left.
He was 100% leaving because he wasn't going to start in a Berry/Thompson/Doughty/Morgan infield in 2022 and wasn't going to start in a White/Thompson/Dugas/Morgan infield in 2023.
