re: For the married OTers, do you do girls trips or guys trips?

I mean... sometimes. By guys trips I go to the deer camp with my buddy and my brother and she goes to like Orlando or Nashville with her sisters.
After 15 years of marriage, it's pretty laid back.

My wife and her sisters and mom do that. One of her sisters has access to a condo in Orange beach through her boss. My wife is the second youngest at 57. They have been doing this the last 4 or 5 years I think. My wife does not always go.

I'm not married, but I am basically married, and we are perfectly ok with guys-trips or girls-trips or whatever, but we very rarely do because its more fun going places and doing things together.

Yeah.... that'll change.

No, my wife and I love travelling together. I don't judge others that do take them though and whatever keeps your relationship healthy is your business.
If we changed this to kids free vacations, then heck yeah, at least once a year.

Men should go, women should not.

Going on a group trip without my husband in ~6 weeks (he's invited - doesn't want to go) to Dominican Republic.
He doesn't want to go to D.R?

Infrequently.
My wife will go on a beach weekend with her college friends every couple of years. Reality is that by the time these things arrive she's usually annoyed at going and doesn't like to be away from the kids. She's just not really the type.
I plan one of these every couple of years with my buddies but our wives typically corrupt it and end up coming. Dude trip to see Turnpike at Red Rocks turns into a Colorado family vacation and so on and so forth.

Wife going on girl trip to DR or Jamaica seems like he equivalent of her going out with her divorced friends to a bro-country concert

Yes. I went out of country with my best friend once. No foul play. We just wanted to take a vacay. Husbands weren’t interested in going.

Going that close to Haiti……I wouldn’t go either.

How were the dancing bears? Didja have a favorite?

I do a long weekend with my old buddies every year. Headed to Louisiana again to go after specs and reds, and to eat, drink, and tell the same old stories.

Nothing more than 1 night
I've going to a sporting event with a buddy then spent the night and drove back the next morning.
Wife has gone with friends to Nola overnight.

Yes. My three best friends all live in other states (one in another country) and we try and do a guys trip once a year.
I would highly recommend it. We always pick somewhere new each time, and we always have a blast.
