For you guys who don't take guys/girls trips, do you have a solid guy or girl friend group? I know some people who get married and then have zero friends, I don't understand how people live like that.

Yes, but we're grown ups that aren't out hunting for strange.

There's shite that I like to do that she doesn't, and vice versa. If you can't go enjoy those things without whipping your genitals out - don't get married.

Other countries? Absolutely not.

Other states? Yes, we both take a “guys trip” and “girls trip” once a year..

I honestly would not want to travel out of country without my wife.

Not a lot but definitely at times. My favorite is our annual fantasy football draft weekend in Toledo Bend. Golf, fishing, boat outings, drinking, grilling.

Everyone’s different though so nothing wrong with those that do not have friends or hobbies they like enough to spend the effort.

Every year. It’s good to get away and just hang with your baws and do whatever you want.

Had a friend recently that told me his wife was going in a girl's trip cruise. The cruise was advertised as a singles cruise. He said she told him that singles cruises were cheaper and that's why she says they booked it. What an idiot.

Would you let her do it, to let's say, Italy?

Absolutely, but only one or two times a year, and no more than 3-4 nights away. My wife doesn't want to go fishing anymore than I want to go to a craft fair.

It depends on where the trip is and who is going. Also, an affair can hit anyone at anytime, no matter how strong your marriage is and no matter how much you trust your spouse. Keep that in mind.

Put it another way, how many middle aged Baws are getting dressed up nice for dinner on Guys weekend after a full day of golfing or fishing? Best case is Khaki’s and a polo.

Now, look at 40 something women who are reasonably attractive. They are dressing up nice for dinner on girls weekend out. Nothing skanky but presentable. Perhaps they plan on dancing. Add in some alcohol, nothing crazy, and you’ll have every Jody between 25 -65 at the bar eying their table to see if they can start a conversation.

If one of the group is toxic, , now you have that friend trying to invite Jody and crew to the VRBO.

As the women can attest to on here, I don't have many female friends. That being said, my husband is my favorite person, and travel is always together. We enjoy one another's company, whether a weekend on the beach, or traveling overseas, we are happy with just the two of us. I have gone back "home" to BTR, for a funeral, and he accompanied me, and we hung out with my best friend of 30+ years. Going on single sex trips has never occurred to me.

I swear some of you have watched too much damn porn….

Sure anything can happen but what is the point of marriage if there is no trust?

No

We do suppers at a house or camp once in a while.

I don’t think you understand the definition of a strong marriage.

Yes, one weekend a year. It's great. High school friends spread out across the country get to reunite.

We didn't start until our late 30s, should have started even sooner.
