i see garbage everywhere and it pisses me off how lazy people are. and it also gets in my front yard and yes i do my part by picking it up too (not just in my yard but elsewhere)

I always wonder why do we have so much trash but other cities in the US do not?

It pisses me off every time I get home from work there’s a water bottle or a soda can discarded in my front yard.

Culture. For some reason people think the government will take care of it. Often times, there's trash dumped right by the trash can.

A lot of it comes from commercial roll-offs.

Kids learn it from Mardi Gras and St. Patricks day parades.

In a moving vehicle = Okay to throw out.

This is not true at all. Have you never been to LA or NY?

Also, some cities do this thing where they fine you for trash or not having your trash in bags.

In Baton Rouge and Nola, that would be racist.

'Colorado Can Do Better': Trashy Highways Getting Worse

quote:

The beauty of Colorado is one of the major reasons why Mike McGuirk and his family call the state home, but lately there's one view he can't seem to stand.

quote:

"Food wrappers, plastic bags, you'll see different foams, like polystyrene foams," McGuirk said.

McGuirk says the amount trash along the sides of interstates and highways is unavoidable and appearing to get worse. He sees it every day commuting along U.S. 6, as well as other parts of the metro area.

So no matter how much people want to bitch about trash down here, it is everywhere.

quote:

CDOT is the agency that handles debris and trash cleanup along interstates, as well as state and U.S. highways. According to Presley Fowler, a CDOT spokesperson, teams within the maintenance department are seeing an increase in littering.

"If you look at the numbers, you do see an increase in debris calls, costs, and pickups we're having to do from year to year," Fowler said.

I am always amazed, in this day and age, when I see people throwing trash out the windows of their cars. How fricking trashy are you?? It isn't that hard to just throw it away once you get home to to someplace with a trash can.

Have you ever driven the I-20 between the La/TX line and Dallas. The side of the road litter is worse than anything I've seen in LA. There are some on ramps in Dallas that have huge appliances and crap piled up along the sides.
