The topic isn't on the poli board and I didn't start it.

Sometimes politics and sports intermingle and it's unavoidable. That's just a fact. Sorry.

I'll remove myself from the discussion as we clearly disagree and my posts on the topic aren't welcome. Delete away

Why is she trying to threaten them with talk of defamation lawyers and such? Why is she assuming that they are planning to defame her? For all that we know, they’re going to do a puff piece on what a great human being she is.

They sent her a list of questions they wanted answered this week. You don't think she knows what the direction of the article is?

She’s talking lawyers and defamation because she knows the axe is about to drop and her neck is right in its path. So she’s getting out ahead of it and trying to intimidate the Post into either fixing it or abandoning it altogether, which is not something people typically do unless they know there’s a freight train a comin’.

I’m assuming because there have been multiple articles written in the past about her?

I don’t know. Seems kind of wild to be so worked up about something we have no clue about. If it comes out to be something ridiculous that she did, more power to you. But if this is based on her being an eccentric coach that is up front with her beliefs, she is well within her rights to question what is put in the article.

Because former players and coaches have told Kim what the piece is supposed to be about on top of that the questions being sent to LSU this week spell what this is all about. Its 100% a hit piece on Kim and the program.

Lets stop acting like the reporter was putting together a 'positive story' on Kim Mulkey. That shite isn't happening, you're naive if you think otherwise

Agreed, I don't think it's political to say a large portion of the media is trash, and for some reason half the sportswriters out there abhor their own line of business.

This will come out before the sweet 16 watch. They will attack her political views.

For those not wanting to read his BK article, it's a hatchet job basically trying to paint LSU and Baton Rouge as the worst place on the planet because a grad student is working in the diversity office is making $12,000 a year with free tuition compared to BK's $10,000,000.

This same character is a former drug dealer and shoplifter that tried running for office as a Republican to mislead voters. This is the sympathetic figure the writer chose

quote:

Chris says he sold drugs and got arrested for shoplifting

quote:

A lifelong Democrat, he registered as a Republican in an attempt to trick White voters, assuming Black residents would support him anyway. Nobody bought it, and Chris got crushed in a primary.

I'm sure she explained her history with said reporter and has a good idea of his intentions, along with the alleged accusations that he was misrepresenting himself to people he was trying to interview/get statements on record.

Reporters for major outlets don’t maintain their access and contacts for scoops by printing wildly exaggerated stuff. There’s a give and take in the business of dealing with media, so while it’s not completely unreasonable to believe that there’s an agenda behind the article, her reaction is more the stuff of heading off an explosively major hit piece that she’s going to have to deal with rather than ignore. It’s likely the kind of article that would ruin the author’s career if it were completely bogus. Hell, she even took a swipe at the media in general in her response, and she’s going to need friendly media to respond to whatever this is.

Which is what makes this curious to me. I personally couldn’t care less about WBB on a good day. This is far more interesting as a media chess game than WBB could ever dream of being. What she’s doing here is far more intriguing than the actual words that she’s using.

If necessary I will contribute to her defense fund. I love that woman!

Oh, and by the way, I have heard that Kent Babbs is a Tranny who used to sport pink hair and saggy breasts. Used to go by the moniker “Baggy Babbs”.

Pre-internet I would agree with you. News stories now are regularly crawfished back, and the profession as a whole is seen by the general populace to be on the level of an ambulance chaser, politician, or inexpensive whore.

For clarity, we can talk about the same topic on two different boards, but on the T-Rant it can only be at a limited capacity?

Isn’t this proving tgrads statement correct?

That’s just it. Once it’s out…it’s out. It’s on the web forever even when they say it’s not and the retractions and apologies never get as much mileage as the headlines that caused them.

This reporter is already getting thousands of clicks and the story hasn’t even come out.
