I'm 43 so I grew up with all the classic board games. I also grew up with a generation that lived outside which you lol don't see much today's kids sadly. Anyway when I wasn't outside, I loved playing classic board games like checkers and Monopoly. I never dabbled in chess, but I was and still claim to be a goat in tabble top soccer or foosball. What says you?

Risk. Take Australia build it to while the other players destroy each other sweep the world. It literally works 100% of the time unless you can be stopped in the first 2ish rounds

Also I’m almost 34 and I remember this similar war board game you likely recall that got completely put out of production long ago which sucks because it’s amazing, axis and allies

Didn’t play board games at all in my family growing up. My wife’s family though is all about them. When I first met them and they wanted to play Monopoly I thought I was in an episode of Leave it to Beaver. But man I love the shite out of some board games and card games like Uno/Phase 10 and stuff like that now.

Axis and Allies

If you are the UK or Japan, start pumping out tanks in India or Manchuria and you will dominate!

This is a very underrated game when you have a good group of people playing. Winning can be really hard with great players.

There's something nostalgic about those hours spent indoors, strategizing over a game board. While I can't claim to be a champ at checkers or Monopoly, I'm all about tabletop soccer too! Foosball gets seriously intense, doesn't it? It's like a mini soccer match right there on the table. Funny you mention chess—I never quite got the hang of it either.

My strategy is to usually focus on both South America and Australia. Australia only has the one point of entry and South America only has 2. Like you said...things have to go very very wrong for this strategy not to work.

Clue.

There's a particular strategy I use that completely breaks the game because 99% of people play the game the same way.

This strategy does not work like you say. It will keep you in the game but eventully one of those people you ignore starts conquering countries. That gives them lots of troops while you get 2 a turn. You will be overun 90%of the time.
