I think you can already tell this isn't going to be a woke show.

I still have 2 more episodes to go, please no spoilers. I guess I missed the woke parts, especially since these people are living in a nuclear wasteland.

I've only played some of the 3rd game, will I be confused trying to watch this?

Not at all. There are plenty of nods and Easter eggs for gamers and when new characters pop up they mean more to gamers initially but there is zero reason a non-gamer shouldn't follow these just fine.

This is ironic, why are you so upset about me pointing out that the show runners cast a tranny and the writers wrote dialogue to identify the tranny?

Would help your argument if Dane was trans.

know it's popular to talk about New Vegas. But I didn't even complete it once.

I completed 3 several times. We take open world games granted for now, but when 3 thrusted you out from the vault and into the open world...and you could go ANYWHERE, it felt pretty exciting at the time.
I prefer New Vegas, I've probably played through ten times. I like the leveling system, desert/Vegas theme, and like the weapon and ammo modding, but F3 is a great and the one I have the most nostalgia for, for the same reasons you mentioned. Heading out into the wasteland for the first time can't be beat.

That's hilarious considering what they did to the NCR and subsequently the entire Fallout: New Vegas game.
Whatever. I care about Fallout canon to an extent but not enough to miss out on enjoying a well beyond solid live action adaptation.

This. What a surreal moment in gaming.

Technically I think non-binary based on how the head of the brotherhood kept referring to Dane as they/then. Not that it really matters. That was the only part it actually factored into anything.

I just figured the character was just a a butch type until that point. Still wasn’t a factor in the story in any way, which is what matters. The character is the character. They aren’t defined by something stupid like that. Wasn’t an issue for me.

I will say this:

Maximus' story arc is what Finn's should have been.

Watched the first two episodes and so far so good. I played a Fallout game on PS4 years ago but can’t remember which one it is. Not too far into the game you come across a settlement that has a nuke in the middle of it. From the experience of that one game the show definitely catches the vibe of the game perfectly. Need a character that survives on nothing but Stim-Packs to make it realistic

Do we think Maximus did it or not? (Only seen first episode so far)

I came here to talk about this, there are parallels between the two characters.

I am 4 episodes in and I'm loving it. It is much better than I expected it to be.

Really good job balancing this wild graphic novel feeling game adaptation.

I’m 5 episodes in and am enjoying it.

As the story went along and o was watching this character, I remember thinking “I hate this guy”. And then over time I realized, I’m supposed to hate him lol.

I’ve heard some reviewers saying the top 3 characters represent different playing styles going into a fallout game. Maximus is the guy jumping in and trying to use a suit and has no idea what he’s doing, but he wants to be a hero at all cost. Even leaving casualties on the way if necessary. You have the girl who is the hardcore role player, and Goggins as the veteran who is a seasoned player. But, you don’t have to even see the show that way for it to work. Really good job.

That’s pretty much what I got out of it too. Maximus is the noob, Lucy is a food build, and the ghoul is the veteran that’s been playing since windows 98.

I don't think I ever played the games;

I caught the first 2 episodes and loved them. I have intentionally stopped so I don't binge everything at once, just to give myself something good to watch.

You can tell this show is a tier above HALO, and several above Twisted Metal. Amazon seems to have scored on this one.

Nice!

Also, I can’t wait till season 2 when they make it to New Vegas. That was such an amazing game!

Is that the plan? I’m only four episodes in so not sure where the storyline goes. New Vegas was the last fallout I played.

Keep watching, you don't want an answer, it may be a spoiler. The show answers it.

Finished last night. That was pretty awesome.

Can we make this a spoiler thread?

I want to talk about some things.
