A growing number of Republican National Committee members believe its campaign arm should help pay mounting legal bills for former President Donald Trump, a move that could strain the party’s ability to financially support other candidates in the 2024 election.

RNC committeeman Solomon Yue, who is from Oregon, told CNBC that he believes “more than a majority” of members are in favor of helping offset the bills from Trump’s lawyers in four pending criminal cases, and at least three other civil cases.

This is absurd

With Haley suspending her campaign, he IS the candidate.

Gotta keep your candidate viable for November.

Trump taking money from the RNC? What an establishment thing to do. Clearly, they own him.

Would Trump have all of these legal fees if he hadn't been president?

When the Dems engage in political prosecution it seems fair to use political donations to counter.

You are like 10 steps behind of what is going on.

Good

The document case was only activated after Trump declared his run

The Georgia case was only filed 2 years after it was know Trump would run.

The NY cases were only filed when Trump decided to run again for cases that are 40 years old.

None of these cases would have been bought up if Trump did not run again.

Not if you donate directly to those candidates.

Even with a change in leadership I still encourage people not to donate to the RNC and donate directly to the candidates.

Donations to the RNC are for big donors who have exceeded their legal caps on donations to individual candidates. The good news here is at least the RNC is being transparent and not hiding their intentions so donors can make more informed decisions.

agree as the GOP is already way behind DEMs in fund raising and cash on hand. This is going to put them even further behind.

Unlike, say, the Save America PAC.
