This and old Comiskey should have been preserved like Fenway and Wrigley.
I think by the time they funded a new ballpark for the Tigers the old Tiger Stadium would’ve had to be rebuilt from the ground up.
But I agree that place was unique and in some ways aesthetically far more interesting than Wrigley and on par with Fenway.

What giant open window? It looks fully enclosed from what I saw.

You can tell by the pixels that make up the A's lineup, this photo has been shopped by a wizard in never never land.

Those concrete donuts will come back in style eventually in a retro kind of way. Those pics already don’t look as bad as they did 5-10 years ago
No they won't. Those were only designed like that as multi purpose (baseball/football) facilities.
Everyone wants there own home now and there's zero reason to bring back that design outside of multi sport usage.

It's vegas, why do they need a roof?
Posted on 3/6/24 at 8:15 am to kywildcatfanone
Because it’s like 110 degrees in the summer

My understanding is that ownership let Tiger Stadium deteriorate to force the hand on a new ballpark, essentially leaving taxpayers no option if they wanted to keep the team.

Dry heat. Toughen up professional atheletes

If I’m a tourist in Vegas in the summer there’s not a fricking chance I am paying money to sit in 100 degree heat when there’s a million other things I can do. Has nothing to do with the athletes

Is it just me or would that be a total nightmare for hitters?

What are the million things to do?
And the locals will and they almost sell out every game for the Aviators in mid summer and i dont think it has a roof or dome
So plenty of Locals will be all over the As games

It's a priority now, but may not be as big a deal in the future

Like with all things retro, it will come back with a modern twist but the same basic concept

They had better face that thing the right direction or else the sun coming in through that windowed side is going to make it impossible to air condition amd cook people alive inside.
I get they want the skyline in the back but it would probably be better to have it facing more SE to avoid any afternoon sunlight getting in at all.

Disagree with most every take here. Those renderings are the shite, Sydney or not

B/c it hits 110 there every day from Late May-September.

Do they realize how hot it gets in Vegas during the summer?
Flew to Vegas one summer with family to raft down the Grand Canyon, Colorado river...got off the plane, down steps, onto the tarmac and thought I was going to melt. It was 120 degrees. Vegas can turn into Death Valley, CA.
