Abolish public education.
In PA, the Amish elementary schools are taught by JHS and HS girls. The students test among the top in the state.
Teacher ed has become an ideological joke.

It's not just a skills gap. It's an attitude toward work gap.
In the last 10 years I've had managers of stores (everything from Lexus maintenance to Starbucks) apologize for poor service and when I ask them about it I get the same answer: 'We have enough workers but sometimes they just don't show up for work and we're suddenly understaffed'.
This never happened 40 year ago.

There is a democrat rep in Knoxville, TN. Gloria Johnson who leading the fight against Private schools. She attended Brentwood Academy in Nashville.
A Buddy is an a Electric Power Company employee. His Boss threatened him and his coworkers by implying they would be replaced with younger, lower paid employees. The planned replacements, showed up late, played with their phone all shift, then left early. Eventually they quit.

We even have assignments in classes where they have to do something like make a LinkedIn account; it’s supposed to be a free 100% on a homework to incentivize them to think about their future,
This seems like validation that education is the problem. Creating a Linkedin account is supposed to get students to think about their future? And the bribe is an easy 100 grade?
As a business person seeing the issues first hand, I would have the students turn in a report about what they believe their future is and what specific actions they are taking to prepare to meet their goals of being self sufficient in their future. It would probably be a course long "living" document that evolves through the length of the course.

We’re at the cusp of entering the Dark Ages, presumably with spotty internet and AI creating all the new ideas, with our religious dogma and all culture hinging around Climate Change and DEI.
We’ll all be dead and gone for the 500 yrs or so it will take our children to get to another Enlightenment

Then fail them. Period.
I wonder if theres a correlation to the parents politics. I’m gonna say most likely.

If you didn't call in at all, the last day you worked was your last day. And that was 40 years ago. I am sure it's different now.

Service gaps are showing up everywhere. You start to see it all cracking, not sure they can automate fast enough.

This is why I will continue to pay an absolute premium for my kids to go to private Christian school with excellent academics….even if we end up in a 1 bedroom apartment for the 5 of us.
Y’all would be shocked at the cost of decent schools in Florida these days.

There will always be a need for pipe fitters/helpers/flaggers. Refineries and has plants aren't going anywhere.

Oh, that's still the way it's done today in a hospital. But that's because people might die during night shift when normal staff is small and someone doesn't show up. Starbucks is not gonna get sued just because they open 2 hours late once a week due to no-shows.

I just want to make an observation about today’s young people. Parents don’t seem to want to push them to adulthood. Expectations used to be go to school/training, get married, and have a family. Now it’s just extended adolescence. Go to school and never grow up, that’s if the kids even go to school.

I'm starting to get there. There's a bill in the Mississippi house to give true school choice.

It’s quite shocking how fricking ignorant a large part of our population is. They’re literally functional retards.
As George Carlin said “think about how dumb the average person is and then realize that half the population is dumber than that”.
ETA: before some smart arse statistician corrects me, (a) it was a standup joke from 45 years ago and (b) it assumes a normal distribution where mean = median.
