That’s true historically. I’d argue that for 150 years in the 250 year history of the US, we’ve had potentially the single best government in the world.

I don’t think that’s the case today, and it’s real hard for me to see any argument for it being the case anytime in the last 50ish years. So while we’ve been historically great, we are moving in the wrong direction
