They’ve only played 7 games.
Relax.
Relax.

You can definitely criticize the team if it's valid and logical, but 7 games into a long baseball season is going to get you downvoted to hell.

What if our overall pitching ends up better this year to offset?

It’s early…. Settle down and watch.

Jay seemed fired up at today's post game. He mentioned how many times he has had the top offense in the country and rattled off several years in a row. Said today's efforts wasn't good enough. He said he couldn't believe the game finished under 3 hours. He blamed that on the hitters swinging to early in the count and said he talked to them 20 minutes about it. But he also mentioned how much youth is on the team. He will get it right. Jay's a great coach. The offense will get to where he wants it.
I think a lot of posters are downplaying a pretty lackluster offensive start but I agree that Johnson gives them a great chance to improve.

Don’t feel the need to so “no”

Look at yesterday's lineup, which I believe it probably the 'best' OFF-lineup we can roll out right now:
Have a full season of college AB's:
White, Pearson, Bingham
Have a partial season of college AB's (or not a full-time starter until this year):
Kling, Neal, Travinski, Jones
FR starting, seeing college P for first season:
Milam & Brown
They have some work to do, no doubt. With CJJ & his staff they should get better with more ABs.

That’s small minded down voters problem then

Here’s a novel idea; players get better with experience & reps

You absolutely cannot say anything negative about an lsu team here. If you do, people here just attack blindly and say, “HOW DARE YOU?!?”
I’m not seeing that at all. Multiple people have given the right answer. Making a call that this team will be middle of the pack hitting in the SEC on Feb 24 is not really understanding how baseball works and what’s going on in the development of a lineup. Maybe the questions shouldn’t be asked if the answers aren’t actually desired.

Until he settles on best lineup it will be a work in progress
Eventually Jay will get there and I really think the step up in competition next week will help this team.
You have some players that benefitted from the lineup last season that are now the main pieces that will have to step up like travinski
LSU had some hard hit balls yesterday that just didn’t fall. Pearson had one to rf and White hit some hard grounders that just didn’t find the holes and unfortunately were double plays.

So they’re not allowed to get better? Jay is still figuring out the lineup.. Jesus
This kind of pie in the sky thinking doesn’t get it at LSU. The season is over and we need to love on from CJJ. He had his Orgeron year what more do we need to see? We lost one game! The sky has fallen.

Four of our better hitter's ability wise are 2 freshman (Brown and Milam) and Neal / Kling (each only played 1/2 a season). These four can hit SEC pitching ability wise.
Some other guys can step up as well -- will J Jones learn how to hit off speed (Frey)? We will see.
Line up with Milam, Brown, Travinski, White, Bingham, Pearson (solid college hitter/plays smart baseball), Neal and Kling -- this seems to be the 8 core guys in the lineup for 2024. Need a couple more to step up and grab the final spot..
Jay moves people in/out of lineup as good as any coach I've seen. Maneri used to butcher these moves other than Nola at beginning of his career.

Seems more likely to be a middle of the road SEC offense this year.
