While I own the RAM, I’ve driven them all.
There really isn’t a bad truck on the market right now.
I even got to drive my friends new Tundra and that thing was sleek. Not crazy about the exterior styling but it’s growing on me.

I learned to drive in one that seemed indestructible at the time. I have a Rebel today that's a couple years old now and I haven't had any issues. While I'm not actively trying to obliterate my suspension on a jobsite every day in it, I'm also not just babying it on the highway either. It does what I need it to do.
My dad has had one since forever and he delivers a lot of oil field tools in it and pulls horses and tractors and all kinds of stuff. His last one had like 200k miles on it before it started living in the shop.

I have a 2019 1500 with 70k miles. Haven't had any issues. Love the truck to death. It is about the smoothest riding vehicle I've ever been in. Plan on giving it to my son in 5 years when he can drive. Mine came with a lifetime power train warranty.
My previous trucks were:
2015 Tacoma
2010 F250
1997 Chevy Z71
I had a good experience with all of them and don't really have any brand loyalty. But the two people in my family that have f150s have had numerous issues with the transmissions

Lots of problems with these trucks. Drive train, transmission, and some suspension issues

I have had a few 5th gens, a 2022 Big Horn Built to Serve is what I currently drive. I've owned a 14 Chevy LTZ and a 21 Chevy Trailboss and also a 16 F150 XLT in the last 10 years. I kind of like them all, but I tell people if you are set on not owning a Ram, do NOT go test drive one. Smoothest, quietest, roomiest truck on the road.

Truck brand loyalty is the weirdest most insecure thing I have ever seen

I have around 250 head of cattle so I guess its possible all of us cattle ranchers in OK are feeding the wrong way by using out F350's and 3500 to feed cattle.
When I head out to pastures to feed I carry two bales on my truck, one on the bed and one pinched in the arms. I have 3 350/3500's 2 Dodge and one Ford. One of the Dodges have a cracked frame that had to be fixed and other ranchers around here are having frame issues on Dodges.
I like the Dodges and Cummins engine and if I was pulling and hauling lighter loads I wouldn't mine having another one.

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie with 105k miles, overall it’s been reliable. I had two issues with sensors going out during the first two years but it’s been solid ever since.

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Limited with 90K miles on it. I love it. The only major issues I’ve had with it are having to change out the air suspension after 7 years and replacing the keyfob RF receiver module about a year ago.
The air ride would randomly go out and I’d have no suspension at all. I pulled the entire air system out and put a traditional Monroe coil over suspension in.
The third brake light was leaking and caused the RF module to go out.

All of the major 4 truck brands have positives, negatives, and fanboys. Like with almost every vehicle, they're exceptionally reliable and more functional when compared to older vehicles. I can't say anything specific about Ram in comparison to the other 3, just those generalities above.
However, I will say this. If you want to buy a Ram, I'd wait. Whatever the name of the conglomerate that owns Ram, Dodge, Jeep is today is getting DESTROYED in terms of inventory. Prices will have to be forced down over the next few months.

I bought a new 2020 Ram 4wd. Transmission went out at 46,000 miles. They put a brand new one in under warranty. No other problems other than that.

I've been driving Ram trucks since 2003 and never been in the shop for anything other than my own negligence. People bitch and moan about every make & model, none of them are flawless not even Toyota.

What Ram are you looking at getting?
If your looking at getting a 2025 they are switching to an inline 6 for the gasoline engine. Inline engines are great from a reliability standpoint. They are well balanced. I think every 18 wheeler out there runs an inline motor. I know that's diesel vs gas but the principal of having all six cylinder turning in one line still applies.
I'm in a 2019 Ram Limited 5.7 Hemi. It's the first Ram I have ever had. I drove every truck in the segment and nothing compares to the Ram interior, especially in a Limited trim. It's is luxury to a T. The seats fit me perfect and are comfortable. The cab is very spacious and the radio is awesome. My Ram has air suspension and it rides like a well refined luxury vehicle. I've never been in a better riding truck.. It also raises and lowers for unloading or off roading and when you hook up a trailer it levels itself out
I have had zero issues with mine. I love the adaptive cruise control. I can go miles and miles in stop and go traffic and never have to touch the gas pedal.
I tow a boat and and RV. My 2019 is a great tow vehicle. If you do any kind of towing get a Ram with 3.92 gears. You have to have 3.92 to get the max tow rating and it makes a big difference and it's only around a $100 upgrade.
It's my personal opinion but I think the Ram is one of the best looking lifted trucks.
The two well known issues are back window leaks. (My last Toyota had a leaking back window also) They extended the warranty on the back window but a bead of silicone around it fixes it also. My back window does not leak however. The other known issue is the header manifold can develop cracks. This has been an issue with Hemi for a while. You look at a used Ram listen for a pretty distinctive tick upon start up. Dealer can replace the manifold for you or you can buy aftermarket headers. Again, these are the two issues that get talked about the most in Ram 1500 forums, but I have personally not had either issue.

I'm in the market to replace my 1st gen Tundra with a newER truck. As much as I'd love to go with a 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi, their track record with transmissions is pretty terrible. The 8 speed that came out in 2019 is looking good and the Aisin trans in the diesel is good as well. The old 6 speeds not so much.
I'm going with a 2017-ish Tundra again. Note for those suggesting the 2020 Tundra's, Toyota dropped the tranny cooler in 2018 so IMO 2017 is the last great year.

Same. I had a 94 model. Traded that one in for an 07 model brand new. Drove that one until 2018 when I traded it in on an 18 model. Hoping to get 10-12 years out of this one too.
Not a single major issue. The dash cracked in the 94 like just about all if them from that Era but dodge improved that.
The 07 only had a few recalls done but no major repairs needed.
So far the 18 has only had the ABS module issue but was changed under warranty and hasn't given trouble since.
Now all of mine were the Cummins diesel but qere all used around the fair pulling, hauling and towing and when they weren't hauling, I wasn't easy on them.

No I have a 2020 and its had its entire fuel tank system replaced twice. at some point its stops taking gas and keeps clicking off ever 50 cents of gas you pump. doing research and found its pretty common and they have done nothing to change the shite design.

Mostly the transmission issues were in the diesels and most of those issues were once people added more power to them which they were not designed to handle.
They were designed for stock power levels.
The Aisin is a great transmission tho, have it in my current truck, the shift points aren't the best but there us tuning finally for them to smooth that out.
GM is having major issues right now with their 6.2 engine just locking up, something to do with valve tappets.
