aren’t you the same guy who basically said all kids should leave the state because they can’t make rational decisions to hang out with their gangbanger childhood friends acting like Louisiana is the only state with a young people and guns murder problem?

I can see why you consider yourself an expert for assuring us that "criminal" jury trials result in unjust convictions.

…. let’s go down your thought path. Do you feel that a somewhat random cross section of today society can dispense a correct verdict in a criminal trial especially if they can’t secure a great legal defense team due to financial reasons ? Would a jury populated with people that don’t have the intellect to comprehend a difficult case be swayed by by a slick DA?

Interesting. I have no idea what actually happened, but the story that his sister got “jumped” earlier & then the shooting happened makes it very hard to believe he was just sitting at home.

Is this a Brandon Miller situation where someone else used his gun? Initial reports said 3 shooters & 3 people were arrested. Is there a 4th person out there that’s getting away with this?

Someone on the last page that has worked in investigations made a fantastic point. Holly can’t claim self defense now without 100% changing his story. So somehow he is going to have to convince people it’s reasonable that a different person used his gun to kill someone in his house and looked like him so much that witnesses also thought it was him

Eliminating his chance to claim self defense was wild

Probably not wise to go on IG and talk about an impending murder trial

Totally disagree since it depends on the situation. If he is innocent, he can definitely force the hand of the authorities but going public/put on the pressure. IMO, not a bad strategy to basically say, "show some evidence or publicly apologize and drop the charges."

some of y’all are losing it

An accused saying they are innocent doesn’t put pressure on the DA

What Hollys statement did succeed at doing is Eliminating self defense as a claim. Which is idiotic

Why would everyone be there because his home is in the projects?

The ballistics of the weapon used belongs to Holly

Link? I haven't seen any of that from a reliable source.

And for the record, eyewitness accounts is extremely shaky. I have seen a man positively id'd by 2 rape victims only to find out it was someone else.

And ballistics is pretty shaky as well. I am pretty sure some jurisdictions don't even accept it as evidence.

Matching casings to a gun is far from shaky.

People talk about innocent until proven guilty, jury trial, public opinion, etc. If he is innocent, he is doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right time. In the immortal words of Barney Fife, aka Don Knotts, "nip it...nip it in the bud!"

If this is resolved very early in his favor, there will be 0 lasting negativity and there is no downside. Character remains 100% intact, minimum lawyer fees, and the authorities will look better the earlier they drop the charges if they made a mistake. "Nip it! Nip it in the bud!"

You're making statements about ballistics and now matching casings but providing no evidence here that any ballistics matches have been found. Can you provide a link?

No actually, you are missing the point. This clearly is a high profile case so yeah, publicly calling out the investigation does put pressure on the DA. You are 100% clueless if you believe otherwise. This is big news...not some unknown charged person. This became a national story as the AP picked it up.

The same reports that I (and anyone from UP or ties to it) knew Holly was being arrested days before it happened.

The evidence used to get the warrant for his arrest were witness testimony and bullet casings matching his gun

Not many people don’t claim innocence. Some don’t of course, but it doesn’t really scare a DA to have the accused say they didn’t do it

So not publicly available yet I guess. Thanks. I guess he now has to say someone else had access to his gun if he is going to continue to claim he was mistakenly identified by witnesses.

First, when did he say he was going to claim self defense? Oh yeah, he didn't so your first point is irrelevant. And there hasn't been enough information released to my knowledge for you to make assumptions with your other statements. Once again, he is doing exactly the right thing to call out the investigation if he is innocent. If you don't think the authorities are going to have to show their hand to some extent, you are wrong. This has already been picked up nationally.
