Do what?!
Bruce Willis
Billy Bob Thornton
Liv Tyler
Ben Affleck
Will Patton
Peter Stormare
Keith David
Steve Buscemi
Michael Clark Duncan
Owen Wilson
fricking Jimmy from Road House
The casting isn’t even close.

more scientifically accurate
Like how the spaceship maneuvers in space?
Look, “more” is relative. But let’s be real, neither are scientifically accurate.
Like I said, DI is a good movie. I like it. But Armageddon is far more entertaining, and that’s about all you should want from an asteroid movie.

C'mon, that cast is overcompensating!
Two words
Morgan Freeman.
Next!

It shocks me to type the words, but I agree with everything Kaiju has said.
Duvall > Willis
Comets > Asteroids
The giant wave > blowing up Paris

Armageddon smokes Deep Impact entirely, and it’s not even remotely close. And I like DI too, but it is by far the inferior movie.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anybody say that DI is better, let alone multiple in one thread
Armageddon is far superior in every measure.
Also,
Elijah and LeeLee outrunning a mega tsunami on a fricking dirt bike is unforgivable, imo.

Some of the best one-liners in a movie ever.
“Just digging a hole…in frigging outer space.”

OMG. I think you’re serious.

AJ, I have only five words for you: Damn glad to see you boy!

That scene always got me. That one and the one in The Patriot where the little girl is telling Mel Gibson “daddy please don’t go I’ll say whatever you want me to say..” after not talking the whole movie.
Yeah I get what others are saying about the ex but to me that scene was about a guy finally seeing a shot to redeem himself to his kid. A kid that apparently the court says he can’t even see because of something in his past.
That’s what always got me. Everyone wants to be someone their kids look up to.

I lost my virginity while this was playing in the room.

I will die a happy man if I never have to hear that fricking god awful Aerosmith song ever again.

Armageddon is great popcorn fun
Which is all that matters in the end.
I've only seen Deep Impact twice at most whereas I've seen Armageddon more times than I have fingers and toes. Armageddon embodies 1990s American blockbuster cinema.

Saw Armageddon in the theatre and when AJ starting doing the “leaving on a jet plane” thing I was looking around to see if anyone else was about to bust out laughing or cringing like me. Still a fun as hell, ridiculous popcorn movie.

I'll rewatch a movie for all sorts of reasons. Whether it's Deadpool, Animal House, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings or Lake Placid. Rewatchability doesn't make it a GREAT movie. And certainly doesn't make it "the finest film ever made".
Yes, Armageddon hits the 90's sweet sport, and that's fine.
But it still ranks 2nd in global disaster movies dealing with extinction level threats from space.
