You think Louisiana is the only place for this? Unless you’re going to college in freaking Utah this stuff will be there.

Now, if you’re saying to leave state if you think you’ll get pulled into your high school or neighborhood friend’s beef and you just need distance, I agree…but that is again anywhere.

A lot of athletes have this issue when they stick with their friends from home. College football is a business and a lot of these guys need to cut ties with people that are bad influences in their life when then play major college ball

You are assuming that the football player is not the bad influence. Not a safe assumption.

Regardless, good people cannot be influenced by anyone to commit premeditated murder. And, this would be murder if he was more skilled with a gun.

Throwing his life away. It’s really not hard to not shoot someone. Damn sad.
You have a football scholarship to Louisiana State University with a possible future NFL $$$$$$$$ Career.

Why aren't you in Baton Rouge getting ready for Spring football practice?

Only a wretched excess dumb and stupid individual would even put themselves in that situation to begin with.

A lot of kids can be influenced to do lots of things under peer pressure and just trying to fit in with certain groups they think are cool. Unfortunately when the group you associate with see you're trying to do something with yourself, they try to tag along with some being secretly jealous of your success and want to see you fall.

The problem is for many athletes is letting go of the groups that can bring trouble to you. A while back (can't remember the player) but his signing day event went viral when his mother walked away when he chose Florida over Bama. It wasn't that she was unhappy with his decision and didn't want to support him, it was because of his involvement with people in the state and wanting him to have a fresh start some place else away from those who only wanted to hurt him. That's why many turn to sports anyway to get away from the environment. But many can't stay away.

TLDR; Pretty much said all that to say that good people can make dumb, stupid and often life altering decisions to please the wrong people and sometimes you don't realize how good you had it until it goes away.

Terribly sad news. I really didn’t want this to be true.

Praying the victims will be okay.

I'm not going to do that.

I've known this kid since he was 9 years old. I was floored when I heard he was involved. To my knowledge he's never been in any kind of trouble.
Fair enough.

Reminder that Trey was not suspended until today when he was arrested for attempted murder, even though we have known he was possibly involved for multiple days now.

Why in the world does that matter? Being suspended matters when you are at school and the suspension is a penalty that prevents you from participating with the team. Holly will be kicked out of school as well.

You think a suspension has anything to do with this situation? Holly may not walk the Earth a free man for a long time. Maybe he can post bail, maybe not.

He's done as an LSU football player, whether he was "suspended" or not.

Farmerville is 217 miles from Baton Rouge. State lines are not some magic barrier that you can't cross.

Given the charges it sounds like some witnesses might have said otherwise.

He’s toast, regardless. Move on; no longer on team.
