What kind of tickets do you usually buy for concerts?

I've bought everything from VIP to general admission to seated. Does it feel weird to anyone else to sit in a chair for most concerts? Take Tool, for example. How weird is it for people to just be seated during that concert? Seems like a show everyone would be standing for.
Thinking about this as I'm buying my Ministry tickets. I can't imagine sitting in a chear for that show.

The only time i bought VIP tickets, I got way too drunk on the free booze, got separated from my group and then didn't realize that there was a VIP section right in front of the stage. I just do GA now. Tickets are expensive enough as it is.

I detest standing room/general admission/stage floor.
-People blocking your view (either too tall, or putting their chick on their shoulders, or wearing some tall hat or umbrella if outside)
-losing your "good" spot to get another drink/or pee,
-surrounded by drunken a-holes: bumping into you, screaming/singing loudly/off-key, spilling drinks, watching them get into arguments/fights
-2 square foot of room without bumping into someone

It depends on the show.
I like general admission when it is in the front (smaller venues).
I like general admission for expensive shows in the back (larger venues).
I like front balcony seats.
I hate sitting under a balcony.

I used to buy general admission tickets and hit the barricade. I ain't young anymore, so now I go for a nice balcony seat.

I prefer whatever it takes to get close to the stage on the floor. Paid seating or general admission.
If I'm going to pay for a show, I want to see the show.

For rock and metal I have to be on the floor. If I sit in a seat I just spend the show wishing I was on the floor.
The problem with floor tickets at arena shows is they’re expensive as shite. It’s one of the reasons I prefer club shows.
I’m in Grand Rapids for work and watching prices on Seat Geek for the floor for Pantera and Lamb Of God on the 20th. Lowest price recently was just over $300 after fees. Figured I’d let prices fall a bit and hopefully get one around $250. Well the $300+ tickets apparently got bought and now the cheapest one is just over $400. frick! Gonna have to drop for me to go but I may have to be willing to pay over $300 now.

GA if available, always
nearly certain (depending on venue) to be a better concert experiance

I rarely go to shows at venues bigger than 500 people. Some of those places have VIP seating but I prefer to stand. I have been forced to sit at certain venues and it always sucks, I feel disconnected from the band when I am just sitting there like a geezer in a retirement home.

The only time I get seats is when that's the only option. It tends to be bands with older fanbases so that's not too surprising. I usually don't enjoy seats but I sat front row center on the balcony for Puscifer last time they came through and it was the best seat in the house.

Only time I bought VIP the show was cancelled and it wasn’t much of a VIP setup. GA always for rock festivals (better view than VIP). Standing room GA if you get there early enough to be up front.
I don’t mind sitting if it’s an opening band I’ve never heard of. I usually go for the aisle seat so I can come and go to the bathroom and vendor.

Seated but close to the stage. Aisle seats bc I drink a lot and piss a lot. Most of the bands I like are dead or at least have dead members so I don’t see a lot of concerts

The best ones I can afford.

Aisle seats. Balcony if a rock type show where people will want to stand. The folks on the floor up front will stand all night, but the tendency to stand fades further back and upstairs.
Will sit on floor level for less rambunctious shows where folks are likely to stay seated. My back is too old to stand on concrete all night.

It depends on the band. For a really upbeat or heavy band, I want floor tickets to get close to the stage or in a pit. For a more chill act, I want the cheapest tickets that come with a chair and an unobstructed view.

I bought black Crowes tickets in Irving at an amphitheater I’ve never been to. I bought mid range reserved as opposed to GA lawn but def got aisle seats
