So just like Jimmy doing pole vault flips with a pool cue and Brad Wesley making quips throughout the original movie?

The thing that made Road House so legendary is that the actors and director clearly thought they were making a serious film. It just turned out to be cheezy bad yet awesome because of that.

This piece of shite early didn't. The CGI was also horrendous.

They made a remake of possibly the cheesiest bad movie of all time that turned into a cult classic

We don’t like to admit it but it’s true. Just watched again for the hundredth time recently. Yikes, so cheesy bad. But weirdly likeable. Like that friend we’ve all had at some point in time.

So most Steven Seagal movies

Anyway, wasn't considering watching but now I feel I need to experience this trainwreck.

How can a remake of a terribly awesome movie be bad?

It's on point with the original, only better comedy injects from Dalton. I thought it was well done in keeping in line with shitty 80s action movie theme

It's not bad if you like the original it's a spot on remake pretty much.

The love interest is super hot. I'm pretty sure that's the rat catcher girl from suicide squad.

I didn’t think it was great, but also didn’t think it was awful. I did think the worst character was mcgregors. It was a 6.5/10 id day. I wouldn’t watch it Again but don’t regret watching it either

She looked good in the bikini but the weird arse hair she had going on in the beginning of the movie was distracting.

That being said, it's not even the worst movie I've seen this week.

This is true for me as well. Unfortunately.

Same. The diversity casting was noticeable, but I wouldn't say distracting. CMcG was overacting like a MFer and THAT was distracting. The guy that gets his arm broken in the trailer was probably my favorite part of the movie.

Wut? It's definitely been a while since you've seen the original. This version has almost nothing in common with Swayze's, other than the general idea of a bouncer defending a bar from a developer.

I finished this last night and liked it okay. I get what people said now about the superhero fight scenes in the way they were shot. But all in all the fights were choreographed fairly well I thought. The damage taken didn’t equal actual injuries though, and that was sort of annoying. Aside from the beatings that JG took and kept on ticking, ole boy hits land on his boat and is thrown 100 feet and….just walks it off?

The plot was meh, but I wasn’t expecting much. And as DEI as the cast is, I was pleasantly surprised that the movie itself really wasn’t.

McGregor was annoying and they could’ve toned him WAY down. And Jake leaned a little too hard into “I’m too cool to be here/smirky” but I just rolled with it.

It’s definitely not a good movie necessarily. But it also isn’t a bad way to spend two hours either. All in all it was about what I expected I guess. My main issue with it is that it simply isn’t as fun as the original.

The movie was blah. Not terrible and certainly not good. McGregor sucked. So i agree with pretty much eveyone in this thread

Easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I knew it would be bad but I hoped they would lean into the nostalgia. They did none of that and were left with a terribly acted and ill conceived mess of a movie.

It had zero redeeming qualities whatsoever. Waste of two hours.

Dude didn’t even say “pain don’t hurt” or anything.

Dude becoming a smiling laughing serial killer 75% of the way through the movie was weird as frick too
