So who's gonna play the Sam Elliot character?? Did I miss that in the trailer?

That looks surprisingly good. Glad they're just taking the basic premise and making a totally different film in a different genre.

I don't care how bad this movie might be, it's 100% going to entertain me after I digest an edible.

nice catch lol

Kinda random, but in college, I worked at a 10 minute oil change shop (before they were on every corner). Doopsie came in with his vehicles religiously. Always decked out in hat, chains, boots. Pants pressed with a seam. Was the nicest guy. I hope this shows him in a good light.

Welp, most of the comments liked that trailer a lot more than I did. Don't like it being in the keys and not sure about Gyllenhaal being the lead. I'll watch it though McGregor's character looks fun.

I don’t expect it to be as good as the original.

But there’s nothing about it that says it’s can’t be a fun watch. I don’t need it to be Oscar quality to enjoy it for what it is.

The Brad Wesley character is the older guy in the hat sitting on the boat

Jake Gyllenhaal

Mostly selective about his roles, and they're generally pretty good.

He's a good actor. Up there with Joaquin Pheonix. That is, if he's in it I'm going to give it a chance.

Man that fell flat. Terrible casting around Jake. Like real shitty-wooden acting/characters.

It's not even campy fun. It's basically just a fighting movie with horrible acting by supporting characters. You never get into the movie unless you just want to see a superhero fight.

As campy as the original is, you go along...it sucks you into their Universe. You believe. Nothing about this movie sucks you in or gives you an interesting suspension of disbelief.

Its really not worth watching, unless you just want to watch superhero fighting with characters who are horrible actors and extremely uninteresting.

Agreed. Sometimes they can take source material and do something fun with it that’s different than just a straight up remake.

Take the same idea and throw it in Florida with some weird and alligators?

Go for it.

The fighting is over-the-top fake...or Kung-Fu movie-like...and really there's no story and Jake acts like a superhero that is indestructible. He gets stabbed in the liver and he just puts duct tape on it and we never hear about it again.

At least Swayze, went to the hospital to hook-up with Kelly Lynch. Also casting in this remake is paint by the numbers DEI.

It was…not good. I wasn’t expecting it to be great but it wasn’t really even entertaining. If someone is on the fence about watching, I’d say give it a miss.

Damn it. I’m pissed now. Was going to make my wife watch it with me. May just watch the original.
