If they said all the old lines, people would be bitching that they said all the old lines.

Its funny people are taking this joke movie seriously

I watched 20 mins of it and fell asleep. What I did watch was just horrible. I normally like Jake Gyllenhaal but this was definitely a miss for him on this one. It was definitely woke and the acting was horrible. Will not watch the rest.

Had to re-watch the old one just to get the remake out of my head and act like it never happened.

When you go back and see how well shot the old one was and how good the score was, it's just a gigantic indictment on today's industry.

And Roadhouse was basically considered a B-movie at the time. There's no writing today...so they had to do another remake and of course, they couldn't get the casting right and despite the pre-existing blueprint couldn't write an interesting story.

didn’t think it was great, but also didn’t think it was awful. I did think the worst character was mcgregors. It was a 6.5/10 id day. I wouldn’t watch it Again but don’t regret watching it either

It was exactly what it was supposed to be. A fun, turn your brain off action movie. I enjoyed it for what it was.

good or bad nobody would even be talking about this movie if mcgregor wasnt in it.

Say what? McGregor is pretty easily the worst thing about this movie. And most people seem to wish he wasn’t in it. WTF are you talking about?

A terrible movie only made watchable by Gyllenhal.

Agreed. I watched last night only because I wanted to see how bad it was based on the comments here. It was fine for what it was. I'm a big fan of the original, so this one could never do it justice, but this new one was hardly the piece of crap I was expecting.

It was a fairly entertaining mindless action flick.

I expected much, much more from the fight scenes considering that Doug Liman directed it. Definitely a disappointment in that aspect.

Watched it last night with the wife. We have not seen the original.

The movie was hard to comprehend logically.

a dying empty bar has fights every night by random tourist. The owner ha 20k cash to pay jake. There are a plethora of live bands who WANT to play that place. The rich son really tried to get a shave on a choppy seas. JG took beatings and walked it off like Wolverine. homeboy flipped a boat and flew 100 feet and walked it off. JG got hit by a truck twice and walked it off. Just way way too out there for me

This is what gave me slight hope when it was announced he was on board to direct. Overall, I was very disappointed. I know Liman fought for this to be in theaters and after watching I'm not exactly sure why.

Watched yesterday... Not terrible, but not good.

Mindless flick akin to a lot of stuff these days. Don't think it was any worse and outlandish than a Fast and Furious.

Connor was the worst part. Brought nothing to the film.

I’m thinking this is the one and only movie that he’s cast in.

lol it wasn't a good movie by any stretch but y'all are so obsessed with "woke"

The movie was terrible because the story was awful, the directing and this weird stitching technology they used for the fighting/action scenes were a disaster, and the editing was horrendous.

we have soccer, gymnastics, and/or jiu jitsu every night this week. Might not be until the weekend, and i'm going to have to do major persuasion to get her on board for a round 2.

I'm not trying to tell you how to manage your marriage, but all you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.
