I'd move to downtown Kirkland tomorrow for the right money and job.

You may want to research the "Seattle Freeze"

Forget about trying to make friends here. Almost half of Pacific Northwest residents don’t even want to talk briefly to people they don’t already know.

The suburbs have some redneck-esque good blue collared folks. The libtards in the city suck, but the suburbs are great.

Tacoma has some decent folks.

No. If the hypo is 500k more than now, still no I think.

I love Washington for it's outdoor offerings but I already hate living where I feel many people are voting against the interests of my family, multiply that by 10 and add a lot of PNW social awkwardness and I'm out at almost any number.

One thing I found funny being in Portland last week

Everyone had 4 wheel drive vehicles with outdoor racks and every single outdoor store sticker on the back possible

Yet, a little snow and ice shite the entire city down for a week yet I drove over 550 miles around the entire area doing site visits in a 2 wheel drive Elantra as a south Louisiana guy.

It’s definitely “lumbersexuals” all over. People that where flannel and outdoor gear that have no clue what the outdoors actually is

For 500k I would move there though 10%

Absolutely. The Northwest part of Washington has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

Seattle is a super-progressive city that’s full of hippies. Not too long ago, they enacted a law where if 911 is called for a crime like robbery or burglary, the dispatcher can’t send any law enforcement and has to send mental health services. It’s a shithole

I can vouch for the Seattle Freeze. Spent a weekend there for a Saints game in 2007 & not one person was friendly. Rudest people I’ve ever encountered.

As an aside, when we saw AU-Oregon for the natty in 2010, we sat beside some Oregon fans (who were fine but typically uninterested in pleasantries). When AU's band was doing their routine God Bless America pregame part with flag, etc., one of the Oregon dudes stood up and his wife yanked him down, saying "I think that's an Auburn song." After reassurance from the guy to the rest of his crew that it was, in fact, nearly 100 years old and not an AU song, they hesitantly stood up alongside him.

Seemed on point even for nearly 15 years ago.

Yes, my daughter lives in Olympia, which is about 45 minutes south of Seattle. I envy her, I could put politics aside to live there.

I’m the opposite.

Living among mentally ill people makes it not worth it, which is a shame because the area is beautiful.

However they do have used needle depositories in every public restroom in the state and they are overflowing regardless of how nice the area is.

Surprised they have that many diabetics. People don’t seem that fat. Must be type 1.

I wouldn't mind visiting but living there has little appeal to me.

Seattle has some of the best burbs in the country. Places like Belleview, which has a nice downtown thats more urban appeals to the more city oriented baws. Mercer Island, Redmond...etc.
