ACB turned into another Roberts type. Everyone expected it as always from this Bush plant, but ACB is showing her globohomo colors. If we get another SCOTUS opportunity, Trump needs to make sure to put someone like Clarance Thomas.

So now that a government doesn't do it's primary job of securing the border, states can do nothing? What kind of precedent does that set?

This decision, and the decision in the Alabama gerrymandering case, will pave the way for the destruction of our country.

ACB is the biggest fricking joke of a justice. Trump really screwed the pooch on that one.

But this board loved the fricking nomination because she has ties to Louisiana and is Catholic.

You got duped again.

This decision,

They lifted an injunction pending appeal on the merits. Its a procedural ruling. You really shouldn't read into it any more than that.

decision in the Alabama gerrymandering case

Bad ruling there, and based on bad and no-longer-needed legislation. No arguments.

I think Kavanaugh has been the disappointment. ACB is usually pretty solid. I don't understand her vote on this one.

Yes, and that was the reason for my post that this ruling could, in theory prevent that kind of action in the admittedly low chance that our immigration laws are ever actually enforced by the feds in the future.

I expected selling out more from Gorsuch or Cavanaugh, but this one is clearly easier bribed and muscled.

Our great grandkids may have to learn about this ruling as the start of Civil War II.

Of course I should. The injunction should not be lifted. They've decided the case without the case being decided. By the time it goes through the courts, this case will be meaningless.

The fact is, if you had to nominate a woman, you find a dumb one. The conservative version of Sotomayor.

All women who view themselves as "intellectual" are liberal.

For these particular strands of concertina wire? Maybe. But not for the broader issue.

Reading that made me sick to my stomach.

We are fricked and we're too cowardly as a society to do anything about it.

This is why I think we should use landmines

They're much harder for another administration to remove and they're MUCH more effective

Another one of Trump's dud choices.

All they did was undo the injunction. To get an injunction you have to show that are you likely to prevail on the merits and will suffer irreparable harm unless they stop what is being done BEFORE the court can rule on the underlying issue. Texas can still win the war but will have to take the wire down because on the surface the Constitution gives the power to regulate (heavily or Lightky) to the Federal a government. Texas ratified that law when it joined the union or when that amendment was passed. Hopefully the final decision will go Texas way. I’m disappointed but understand that the court probably wanted to stop all these injunctions. And the drowning probably didn’t help.

This type of nuance and knowledge of the judicial system is HEAVILY frowned upon here. Enjoy the downvotes for being right.
