I AM a Catholic.
Thomas, Kavanaugh and Alito obviously have no issue separating what’s legally right from their faith. ACB has been a question mark on that score from the start.
We don’t all think in lockstep, you know.

Man hate to say it because I love Trump but all his picks for the court were only slightly better than hard left liberals.

The majority ruling sucks but you are projecting that ACB is ruling based on her Catholicism. Please give the Catholic teaching where the State of Texas isn't allowed to defend their border when the federal government fails to do so.
Do we even have an opinion from the majority on why they ruled the way they did?

I think you’re misunderstanding me. I’m not in any way defending ACB. I believe she’s putting what she personally believes (either consciously or unconsciously) ahead of a proper interpretation of the Constitution.
It’s pretty well known that the current Pope favors open borders.

Who would have guessed Feinstein may have been on the mark with her questioning about this issue?

Texas should back up 5’ and rerun the wire. That’s Texas sovereign land, not the border.

Could the person who told me, 'You're not smart enough to know who I am,' be Movsum Samadov, the head of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan, who served 12 years in prison and was released in January 2023?
What do you think?

Undoubtedly there are thousands like him that have crossed this year. We will see chaos at home because of our failed leadership at the national level. They will create a crisis prior to the Nov 24 elections I fear. 2024 will be a wild ride

It’s probably somewhere next to how you claim to be a “small government conservative” and support things like the civil rights act and ADA.
I'm pretty sure equal rights are part of the constitution.

Go look at what Catholic Charities are doing. They support open borders.
I mean, this is pretty clear and obvious where the church stands here.
Now, is the church not folliwing their own teachings? Perhaps... but the current church direction is very much in favor of open borders.
What TX is trying to do is to close said open borders.

Brian Cates tweeted some interesting details about this ruling yesterday.
Per Cates, the Supreme Court cannot on its own instigate an overturning of it's own precedents. Biden's filing asked SCOTUS to "affirm its own previously established precedent" that the feds have control of the border not the State.
Fed Courts will say Feds have control of the border, based on the precedents.
Arizona back in 2000s attempted to assert control of the border from the Obama administration. Fed courts ruled quickly in the favor of Feds and AZ didn't push the matter.
Cates is hopeful that AG Paxson will ask SCOTUS to review their past precedents on the basis that the feds have abdicated their national security role to protect its own citizens.
Good to see that Gov. Abbott still has the TX. Nat. Guard putting out more wire to deter illegal crossings.

Sounds like a rock solid idea. Imagine if you backed up more than 5 feet, say 100 yards. At what point can the U.S. no longer logically argue that the land is the border and under its control?

To add to that, we need to stop paying attention to the Federalist society. They’re a bunch of nerds who got their heads shoved in lockers and their pants pulled around their ankles in gym class.
