Then when the general election is held he’d have to beat a Dem. If that election is held on the same day as the day we vote for president, it would be hard for him to win. But that’s not how it is currently scheduled

I don't think Graves wouod get primaried in 2024, if that was even an option. So then he has to run agains the Dem in November, and probably loses due to higher turnout.

But, in an open primary, he can probably get enough of the vote to make a December runoff, then who knows, he might sneak in.

I also think that if Graves DID get primaried (if such a system existed) he would likely do worse than Graves on election day, not better. Because Graves would be primaried by someone who was to the right of him.

Maybe Graves is moderate enough to pull a few dem votes because maybe there are a few Dems out there that know Cleo is a fraud.

Maybe. Maybe not.

What’s wrong with that? If Graves gets beat in a primary if his own party that means there’s a better Republican.

So brave. Rather than barking, why don’t YOU run for Congress and make a difference. Easier to criticize from the cheap seats… Like I said, functioning morons.

So you can’t call out a politician who runs as a conservative Rep but votes with Dems when his vote would have change the outcome, unless you run to be a U.S. Congressman?

GFY tyrant.

This is how the crazies think. There are no shades of grey. They have their rigid standards and if you deviate then you are a POS.

No shades of grey? Coming from someone who thinks it’s either Graves or Cleo Fields.

I’m more pissed at the judge forcing this. What happens when we have to have a Hispanic district?

If we had real Republicans, they’d have let the judge draw the map and then challenged that. Now they have created their own gerrymandering map and set precedent.

Name me one vote that would have decided the outcome. This ain’t the Senate, dolt.

I have zero problem with criticizing politicians for their votes, but know WTF you’re talking about rather than spewing TPs, conjecture, and hyperbole.

FYSA — No single member of the House controls anything. It’s not how that body works. However, the Senate operates that way, but there are controls to marginalize lone-gun behavior.

I’m not saying Graves is a “perfect” Member; however, when I look at our Representatives/Senators over the last 30 years (my lifetime), the one common denominator is our Republican voters are facking stooopid.

Like I said previously, let everyone know of ONE major accomplishment from any Republican politician (state or Federal) over the past 30 years.

You want an Obama appointee to draw the map?

I don't know if that would be possible and, assuming it is, the USSC has been pretty punitive to Alabama for dragging it's feet. No reason to think they'd reverse a judicially -created map after LA.dragged it's feet.

Exactly. Y’all are blowhard cowards who couldn’t fill a thimble with your political intelligence.

He was silent on Trump, J6, JBE and tried the higher ground republican-friends across the aisle approach.

Like a true simp, the dem's got what they needed (lack of courage) and now he is no longer needed - left outside holding the bags.

A day or two ago Grave's mentor and former boss Billy Tauzin was quoted as saying that Graves if often "smartest guy in the room" persona that rubs some people the wrong way. My limited experience is that Graves too often fakes smarts and knowledge. Some influential people realize it.

Graves is my rep. I’m not a fan but I don’t understand why this decision wasn’t appealed or more legal action taken. I thought other areas had successfully fought this gerrymandering simply for the sake of race. I cant imagine the disjointed map we got is not challengeable in court. But I’m obviously not an attorney.
