How’s North Mississippi living? More specifically Tupelo. On paper it seems like a decent place to be. Just curious if anyone here has any insight.

It's pretty great for north miss. You're not far from Oxford and not far from Memphis airport. Cost of living is super low. Tupelo public schools are some of the best in the state too.

Stay away from the the small surrounding towns. They're meth havens.

Tupelo isn’t bad. There are certainly worse places to live in ms.

Decently safe, no big city problems, decent schools, and your dollar is going to go far there. Not all that much to do though

Do you have to be there for work? There are some awesome little cities in MS much better than Tupelo.

Are you able to cast a wider net?

I feel like you can do a ton better.

They have a first class aquatic center that’s all I really know as we go there once a year for the MS high school state swim championships. Outskirts are nothing but farmland mostly cotton. If you deer hunt the area seems promising.

Doesn’t seem to be bad the several times I’ve worked around there and had to stay. Particularly the Barnes Crossing area.

If its good enough for Jack Cristil, it's good enough for anybody.

Born and raised in Tupelo. It’s a great town with good people. Downtown has made great improvements lately. Public schools are some of the best you’ll find anywhere, and as others have said it’s relatively close to a lot of places. ~1 hour from Oxford, Starkville, Memphis. 6 hours from NOLA, Alabama gulf coast. 4ish hours from Nashville and Atlanta

After reading these responses, I have chuckeld quiet a bit. I have lived here for almost 50 years and can't find any thing wrong with it other than what you'd find in any town. It isn't a party town by any means, but plenty to do. As mentioned, it is a short trip to many cool arse places too. Great place to be.
