I doubt Gump's going to pay that. It was part of his new contract that he signed after last season.

quote:

Lanning's new contract includes a $20 million buyout if he leaves at any point prior to the end of the deal. It also fully-guaranteed, so Lanning will receive the entire amount if he is fired prior to the end of the 2028 season. He will receive up to three automatic one-year extensions for winning 10 or more games in the regular season and a $500,000 bonus for winning the College Football Playoff. The contract makes Lanning the second-highest paid coach in the Pac-12.

Any chance Bama foregoes a fully guaranteed contract so we can move closer to ending this contract madness?

Considering they haven’t had to pay a buyout in lord knows how long I doubt they care.

Bama will burn down every department of that university to keep the football team rolling. I don’t see a buyout being a problem.

Alabama could get $20 million out of every Buck tooth, sister fricking trailer park from Demopolis to Tuscaloosa.

Lanning has not been a head coach long enough to have a real track record on recruiting. Gumps big on recruiting prowess. They fired coaches because of it.

Sleeper candidate could be Norvell at FSU

The only thing Lanning has a track record on is recruiting

So his track record on recruiting as an assistant doesn't matter?
