You do realize this coach isn’t going to come in a work for free, and if it is someone like Lanning you are probably looking at around that to get him.

Playing for Saban or Smart is different than playing for Lanning as a head coach

Schools are paying coaches more than that to NOT come to work and sit on their butts. I’m sure Bama would shell that out to actually get someone to come and coach their team.

No. I meant it's not an actual $20M buyout for Bama. They were paying Saban $11 M anyway. Take that $11 + 9 more, and pay buyout. Then negoiate a 5 year new contract for Lanning. The point is Bama can swing it. They are not penny pinchers.
