it’s odd this random murder of a fan in town for the College Football playoffs isn’t a news story or headline. this story even mentions the NOPD hasn’t confirmed it…if he was murdered in a robbery gone wrong this is a big deal

I think it's becoming so commonplace that it doesn't make headlines anymore. It's like a pirate town. You're putting your life in the hands of a society that's completely indifferent to you living or dying.

How’s that worse than what’s happening now? But, ok. The non-bar hoppers. Had someone been around when those pos dragged that woman to death a while back, attempted car jackings, and other random attacks, the garbage would take itself out. And in JP, where it is spreading, no jury would convict self defense.

Every law abiding citizen should have their CHP and some training. A few doses of their own medicine would stop this.

I’m a huge supporter of CC, but you can’t just roll into a bar in the quarter with a gun and have a drink or you’re committing a felony.

Good bad or indifferent a CHP/CCP doesn’t mean you get to just roll around like Doc Holliday in Deadwood back in the day.

So these aren't the types to go out looking for trouble.

We don't know that. Sometimes people that live squeaky clean lives in their hometown use vacations as an opportunity to misbehave (drugs, prostitution, reckless behavior, etc). It's the Spring Break mentality. I'm not saying they did anything wrong but I would be curious to hear the backstory of what led to this murder.

Wonder if this guy was like the guy from out of town killed in BR chasing drugs and hanging with pimps, hoes, and hustlers?

Believe there is a lot more to this one. The husband has had trouble providing details to NOPD and cameras all around the area but nothing on if anyone saw it.

Guarantee him and/or his husband were trying to score drugs and the deal went sour.

Oldest trick in the book. Meet someone in the quarter, offer to sell them drugs, if they accept “sure, follow me”, and it’s over Johnny. Usually ends in robbery though

Is this really the first murder in NOLA this year? Lake Chuck has already had two.

As of Friday it was number two (at least second one confirmed)… we have had three more since.

Good to see things are staying status quo.

Nothing other than it’s made national news. A friend of the couple wrote on the local Reddit it was a robbery gone wrong as they were walking to R bar. Evidently someone jumped out of a car attempting to rob the couple. Not sure if they got anything but he was shot and the killer jumped into a getaway car with someone else driving.

Daily Mail coverage and it has an interesting picture of the front of their bagel shop.

The previous job of Jacob Carter with a non-profit assisting aliens might indicate a rosy view of the less well off.

Latest news says it was a robbery gone bad, a blue car was involved, and the car was possibly sunk into Bayou Saint John.

Probably not.

It's really easy these days to find drugs without going to the ghetto. They were upper crust types who knew people in town. Whatever drug habit they may have had (if they had one at all) was probably fixed the day they got off the plane by a friend or business partner.

Nope.

Those two could've gotten much better quality dope in a gay bar than what they would get from some shitbag hood rat.

You want some high quality H20? Pop into a French Quarter gay bar, have a few drinks and get to know a regular or two. You'll leave with some good shite.
