People will look back at the offensive staff last year and not believe it

Denbrock - OC
Sloan - QBs
Hankton - passing, WRs
Davis - OL
Wilson - recruiting, RBs

That offensive staff was ridiculous. Combine that with JD5, receiver room and our OL and boom goes the dynamite. Probably best offensive room we’ll ever have.

The position coaches all top notch.

Insane we nailed the offense side so well, while simultaneously having a pile of shite on the D side.

Arguable that each offensive guy is top 5 in the country and defense is bottom 5 dc through every position coach

It is pretty remarkable to see a vet like Kelly put together such a poor defensive staff.

I think people will look back on the players and think damn outside of RB that was the most talented CFB offensive roster of all time along with the 2019 team …

Every matter of opinion is arguable. You guys are employing circular reasoning. The defense was bad, so all of the defensive coaches were bad. The offense was great, so all of the offensive coaches were great. A young Nick Saban could have been a position coach and you’d still be saying all of them suck.

All you are really saying is, “Hard to believe we had a great offense and a bad defense.” That doesn’t seem so “insane”.

Nah look at the improvement and difference in recruiting on offense.

Brad Davis is crushing it and has a stacked line.

Sloan took a raw JD and made him into a beast.

Hankton developed elite wrs and has been recruiting.

Frank is elite and has restocked our running back room.

On the D we hired a d line coach ranked near the bottom.

Cook and Steeples can’t coach or recruit

House had a unit with Harold Perkins and made him look bad, kept playing speights and his recruiting is piss poor.

Our offense coaching staff is good at technical and recruiting.

The D staff isn’t and it’s just poorly constructed

The D staff was full of underwhelming hires from the start. Really odd.

Not a single guy on the D that was any sort of hot commodity at the time of hire and we can clearly see why. A bunch of retreads.

Offense - we get guys that were considered the best of the best with Wilson, Hankton, Sloan, etc.

It makes you think that BK picked the offensive staff, as it’s his offensive philosophy. It appears he gave full autonomy to his DC to pick his staff and House picked a bunch of bums.

Denbrock is gone but which of those are still here?

The lone good defensive hire by BK was Cain.

House was extremely disappointing and nearly everyone shite on it until honey badger vouched for him. For the amount we pay we should have an elite dc

Don’t know why Denbrock decided to leave that behind. Those position coaches were unbelievable. Might find it a lot more difficult without that staff

House was seen as a good dc before this season. Hell, he was on that top dcs list that was linked on here if you saw it

Only defense that could stop that offense from playing for SEC and National Championships was unfortunately our clown DC and his staff of misfits.

When the defensive staff names began to trickle in, you could see the collective groans beginning. There was hope and trust in Kelly, but things played out even worse than expected.

You are laboring under a mistaken premise that the defensive coaches are responsible for the defensive recruiting. This is just not so. Coaches tend to focus on areas.

So, coaches don't recruit?

The defense was 101st in the country in total defense. It wasn’t bad, it was awful.

"Sloan took a raw JD and made him into a beast."
This was 90% of the Offense right here.

"On the D we hired a d line coach ranked near the bottom."

What did South Carolina do on Defense or what great DL's did Lindsey produce while there? Sorry about JL's illness, but this was a WEAK hire.

"Cook and Steeples can’t coach or recruit."
One WEAK hire and one VERY WEAK hire. Neither are LSU/SEC caliber.

"House had a unit with Harold Perkins and made him look bad, kept playing speights and his recruiting is piss poor."
The Pennywise hire didn't appear to be that WEAK on paper, but it turned into Legendary Dysfunctional WEAK. The scheme was too difficult to comprehend for the existing athletes, combined with athletes that were mostly not LSU/SEC caliber. It didn't get fixed until the Kelly-Diaco Coups at halftime of the A&M game when the Cover 2 Trail got installed by Diaco in 10 minutes.....
