Couldn’t she just tell the cops that he lied? She could say,” yuck he’s old. No way would I offer that. I just asked for help with some gas”

Ha !! Witnessed something like that when I was a kid.
Long time ago Grandad and I stopped for gas and after he paid a woman followed him out and approached him for the same thing arse for gas. Grandad laughed at the woman and shook his head no and we headed back out on the road to go to the rig. He didn't report her.
