Any reason not to throw away coax cable?

I know it seems random, but we accumulated a bit of coax cable over the years.
Does it have any value? Is there any reason not to just pitch it? Thank you.

No way man. It’s primed for a comeback.

Not really.

If you don't have an antenna and dont have a coax drop for an antenna, then keep it. When a hurricane hits and the power goes out, you'll have a project to get tv.

Throw it, if you need some down the road, buy some more.

I have a two storage bins full. Actually throwing them out tomorrow. Tired of seeing them and they just take up needed space. If I ever need one in the future I'll just go buy it.

keep it for your doomsday inventory. The cable will make great animal snares

More people need to accept that storing "stuff" has a cost just like having to buy more "stuff". It doesn't matter if its climate controlled storage or under your bed. It costs to store stuff one way or another.

Don’t toss it, antiquetiger will take it along with your old drawers.

I use a 20 foot coax cable to run a digital HD antenna out into my front yard for the once or twice a year we want to pick up a big game on CBS or another local channel for free and without the worry or delay of streaming.
It has come in handy.
IF you're wondering what I'm talking about. a lot of these antennas use the coax port on your TV.

Keep one 6 ft piece for an emergency antenna. You can screw it in, drape it across the top and scan for channels when you are running off your generator.

They're good for getting at those little inside-the-butthole itches.

What kind of “old drawers” are we talking?

Save it and play Duck Hunt on an older tube tv.

You could use it to tie down a load on a trailer.

I have a decent amount of RG6 in a spool. The last thing I used it for was in-wall subwoofer cables in my home theater. It just sits with the remains of spools of Cat7 and multiple types of Romex. If I needed the room the RG6 would be the first to go but since I have coax in active use I wouldn't toss it unless I had to. That being said it is cheap (under 20 cents a foot in bulk) so if you need the room or trying to cut clutter toss it.

Once you’ve accumulated a small box of it, no. Toss it. The box will drive the wife nuts. But you never know when you will need one.
Not from component to component anymore really. But if you are satellite or cable you will have one around being used. If you’re internet is through cable company (probably a high number) your whole damned house runs on that coax. Unless you like driving to the business to pay your bills, Dad.

You could strangle someone with it or use it to tie the hands of your next kidnapping victim.
