Doesn’t seem like the deals are as great or worth the hype?

Seems like the “door busting” isn’t a thing anymore and you can get things online without having to wake up early etc…

Or is there still things worth having to go elbow to elbow with people???

Where’s the good deals???

It needs to die if not dead yet.

2023 Black Friday deals are equal to 2020 retail prices.

I've noticed that most deals are just them marking up the original price, putting a line through it, lowering it to around the original price and calling it a sale

It defiantly doesn't feel like what it used to be.

Yeah….

We use to browse the sale papers after thanksgiving and just mess around… let the kiddos point out what they may want and catch some deals.

Now it’s none of that.

I told my wife are we just “too good” for Black Friday deals now? And she said, “no they just don’t have anything worth it”

Yes. Now it's a month long event so the actual day does not have the frenzy it used to

That said, I am buying this book for anyone on the OT who wants one this Christmas

According to MrsAntiqueTiger, Black Friday deals are not about the door busters or even the shite you see in their ad, those are for the poor and insane. It’s about the unknown ones you come upon while shopping, linens & towels, Tupperware, Christmas decorations, clothes, etc.

As a singular event, it's pretty dead. But there are some places (typically female-focused) who still offer great deals in person only on BF. We just don't hear/think about them b/c we're not the targeted demo.

You can still find some good deals. There are certain items you should always wait until BF (or other event days) to buy, like mixers, air fryers, Amazon products, Apple, products, etc.

We own a small retail business here in Bham. I can assure you that Black Friday isn’t dead, at least for us it isn’t. Today will be one of our biggest days of the year.

News Flash: Women are going to spend money on kids.

We're going to get out a little later and hit the co-op and hobby lobby in a small town near us. No crazy, just a fun way to kick off Christmas season.

It was always a HUGE thing that my wife and her sisters did every year. I thought it was ridiculous, but looking back, it was just a unique thing they looked forward to an enjoyed as sisters. It started to fade a few before COVID when they moved the sales to Thanksgiving evening, now it’s completely dead.

Meh. For some families, mainly the women, it is a tradition. I have no issue with it.
