I told this story on here before, but an old boss of mine told me that a few years prior to him telling me the story that there was a furniture store that had a piece of furniture his wife wanted and in the paper it had SALE with the price next to it.

She went out and bought it.

In February, that same store had sent out their normal sales paper and they had that same piece of furniture listed as a regular item $100 cheaper that what his wife bought it when it was "SALE".

They have good deals, but the are usually early in the day to basically get people into the stores, but if you wait about 2 weeks before Christmas you can get some good deals.

I remember my dad & I, when I was a kid, used to go on Christmas eve to by my mom's gift. He would get like 70% off then bribe me by buying me something to not tell my mom and tell me that if I say anything next year he wouldn't buy me anything. We would then go to his mom's to get her to rap it.

He pretty much explained to me that some things matter more to women than to men and what they don't know will not hurt them so as long as my mom thinks he didn't wait until the last minute to get her gift, that's all that mattered..

But he had his wad of cash he kept to himself so if he was buying anything with it, he was going to make sure he got it as cheap as possible.

I have fond memories of getting up at 3am and hitting the GameStop in Monroe around 2003 with my kids to get halo or something.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

2023 Black Friday deals are equal to 2020 retail prices.
I said the same thing to my wife last night when she was talking about that she didn’t see any good black Friday deals

yeah, hard earned money. OR, wildly irresponsible, and reckless credit card spending. Either one.

Well peoples idiotic buying trends have gotten us here, so I kind of get it. I'll get on my soap box, but we have sold our souls for cheaper and cheaper shite that we usually don't need. I'm fricking envious of my parents and grand parents that got to purchase maybe two fridges in their life.

There are no "deals". They just markup the prices and then "slash" them with the price stabilizing at the original MSRP.

I've noticed that most deals are just them marking up the original price, putting a line through it, lowering it to around the original price and calling it a sale

tAmazon special. I hope they get sued for this one day.

It depends what you are searching for. Black Friday for electronics is dead, but for stuff like house appliances, car parts, boat parts, it’s still good. I just save $87 dollars on my dryer purchase and got $58 off my marine part purchase. I’ve been having everything in my cart since the 15th but waited and I definitely saved on those 2 purchases.
