Not my Pawpaw...my dad drove a 1980 Luv Diesel (4x4)...and quit smoking in the late 70s. That Isuzu diesel engine was badass. I loved that thing.

Paw Paw was dead for nearly 20 years by when the '80s rolled around. He was killed by throat cancer. He was a heavy smoker, if that matters.

My Dad drove a Ranger 4X4. He didn't smoke.

WOW I lost a few layers of skin thinking about getting in those seats in about 330pm in August.

paw paw drove the not lowered version of this. He did not smoke and was very loveable in that Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge kind of way.

True Story

My grandmother's brother we called "Uncle Ed" had a truck like that red one, he drove it for 20 years at least until it was a piece of crap.

One day while going around a curve the door came unhinged and Uncle Ed rolled out in the ditch, problem was his wife was on the other side ridding shotgun and had never learned to drive.

The truck kept going down the road until it finally crashed, she had never moved.

After it was all over they survived bruised and beaten up and we all got a good laugh about it.

My Paw Paw drove this bad boy in the 80s. I wish it were still around. Would be a cool restoration project.

Yup. And that little Isuzu diesel engine ii still chugging away somewhere in some piece of farm equipment or something else somewhere. The body of that truck was good for about 100,000 miles but that engine would probably go a million miles if the truck body didn’t just completely rust away around it.

I remember my grandfather had a red and white 1984 Ford pickup. He drove it around for about five years then sold it cheap to my old man to use as a work truck. He then used it for about five or six years. By the time he was done with it, it was all beat to hell but still ran great. My old man sold it to some guy who was buying it for his kid as a first vehicle. This was in 1997. I got to school one day and see that damn truck parked out in the parking lot. It seemed like the damn thing was following me around for 15 years.

LOL.. I owned a 1976 Chevy Luv. No radio/AC. Was a great little truck. Had a Mitsubishi 4 cyl in it that was damn near indestructible. At least I think that was the engine maker. Was a 1.8. I could be wrong

I briefly drove a Luv truck. Those were tiny back then even. My brother put fat tires on one and use to drag race it in Memphis. Good days.

My Paw Paw always drove Buicks

His last one was a 94 or 95 Roadmaster that was white with a red leather interior that I’d kill for today in pristine condition

You must have been born in the 90s or later if you think Papaws were driving around in a toy truck like a Chevy Luv in the 80s. They were driving around in trucks like this…

Or this…

My dad had an 80's GMC Sierra about that color. Well one side was red..the driver's side was brown from years of spitting tobacco juice out the window.

Born in the 70's.

knew a ton of pawpaw's in my area that drove them.

Local chevy dealer bought a bunch off a flood sale and they were scooping them up left and right.
