quote:Or possibly the fact that 44% of the LA electorate is not party affiliated. They just vote for the person and they were duped by JBE's bullshite 'moderate' styling, while the two R's torched each other for the runoff with negative ads.
I seriously think there is this 10% subset of usually Republican voters who vote for any Democrat they are told is “moderate” because it makes them feel they are “independent voters.” Same thing happened in Louisiana with JBE last cycle. In reality, these voters are just retarded but swing elections.

Never gonna see a Republican President again.. EVER.

Because the Republican party is being cucked and going further left to get more votes. That's why

Y’all melting hard over a state that’s had a Republican Governor for only 20 out of the last 100 years.

Since I moved up here, pretty much everyone I've talked to is conservative and wouldn't vote dem. Cameron also was endorsed by Trump.
At least in my area, the population seems a lot older. Probably a lot of old people voting democrat because they don't know what the current democrat party is about, but that's who they've voted for all their life.
I have heard that Beshear outspent Cameron around 8 to 1. Pretty massive. I've been getting negative ads against Cameron every day on youtube for months. Then positive ads for Beshear everyday starting about a week ago. I've only seen one (1) pro Cameron ad in that time.

The modern mainstream right isn’t even that conservative anymore. If anything, today’s mainstream conservatism has more in common with classical liberalism than it does the right.
No. Modern conservatism is about obedience to Trump. That’s really all that’s left.

This. 100%. And it helps when your dad was governor.

No... I would say that at this point in their lives... Loosing Social Security is number one on their minds. And democrats have a better way to market keeping it than the Republicans do.
I know way elder people that voted for Biden because they were scared to death that Trump was gonna get rid of Social Security.

There’s a good chunk of the non-left that describes but that chunk sure as hell doesn’t consist of conservatives.

Yes, Trump endorsed Cameron and so did McConnell. I guess some Republicans in Kentucky just won’t vote for a black guy.
Kentucky always elects Democrats as governor.

What's also funny is they had the opportunity in the last election to give the legislature the ability to call a special session with a super major in both houses, but voted it down.
Currently, only the gov can call a special session. So basically, you get some democrat in the governor's seat and all he has to do is wait for the legislature to conclude their sessions, then he can go full tyrant for the rest of the year and nothing can stop him.

What don't you people understand about abortion: the soft middle here wants the rules they basically have in Europe.

In 15-20 years there will be a book titled
“We don’t win anymore”: the Donald Trump legacy

Abortion is a big reason White women are voting Blue instead of Red which they mostly agree with.
This. The last election showed the same results - more single issue voters than ever before and it’s happening again now. Even women who would normally be against abortion are spurred to vote because the issue is sold to them as a “women’s rights” issue. Large numbers of women who normally wouldn’t give two shits about voting are getting out to vote only because of this issue.

More than a third of the vote is absentee voting, and obviously largely favors democrats.
So Cameron won 431k to 298k with people who actually went to the polls today.
