The national push by Republicans to push black candidates has not worked. They think it will attract minority votes to the party but it doesnt work out that way.

The fatal flaw in this plan is that blacks (who are 95% democrat) will not crossover and vote for a black republican. They refuse to because they view black republicans as traitors. They prefer a lily white dem candidate who promises them free stuff. ITs all about the grift.

Also, many working class whites will opt out voting for them as well. They will stick with what they perceive to be a blue dog white democrat. Even though it is against their own self interest.

It is what it is.

I don't mind this

It's pursuing black voters that is the mistake.

Blacks will never vote GOP as long as Dems push free shite & anti-white racism

Let’s get real here……these “absentee votes” are nothing more than democrats stuffing the ballots!

There is ZERO fricking need to vote with an absent ballot!

Democrats can only win f they cheat!! We need to do away with absentee ballots or this country is going further down the drain!

Governor races are often different.

Vermont has a Republican governor and until last year, so did Maryland and Massachusetts. All three are dark blue states.

Yet somehow the Governors race had a lot more votes cast than those two races on the same ballot and the Dem won.

Right now I see 25k more votes for Governor than SoS. Or 2% of the vote. I’m not sure that’s outside of historical norms.

You confuse media talking points with reality. I don’t know any pro-abortion women.

So some thoughts here:

- Historically here, the Governor’s mansion goes blue.

- Beshear is an incumbent which is going to be hard to vote out in a lot of circumstances.

- Most of the ads (and sweet Jesus the texts) I got for Cameron was just all attack ads but no actual policy. Most of Beshear’s ads focused on economic growth. I truly believe people got tired of seeing the non-stop attack ads.

- Cameron had a really, really poorly run campaign. He never put up anything about actual policy. He ran on “Beshear didn’t”. My fiancé is an independent (we have closed primary voting here in Kentucky) and we never once got a knock from a Cameron campaigner. We had four knocks from Beshear folks.

- Beshear did a lot of work with Western Kentuckians when tornados hit and Eastern Kentuckians when the flooding hit. Was boots on the ground there as well. IMO this is being vastly undersold. People here remember that kind of thing. Especially in areas that are largely forgotten about politically outside of the big metro areas.

- Beshear also isn’t shy to lean into his faith. That speaks to voters here as well.

- When the numbers all settle, you’ll also find Secretary of State Michael Adams (R) carried a lot of moderates and Dems. People appreciated him working across the aisle to introduce no-excuse early voting. He’s done a good job running clean elections with little to no issues. I anticipate he’ll run for Governor in 4 years and could likely win as he’s an appealing candidate who ran on what he actually did in office instead of throwing nothing but mud.

- People crying that it’s rigged don’t really know Kentucky politics.

He's a senator from SC. What does he have to do with it? Louisville and Lexington have become very liberal in the last 10-15 years, so the results are not surprising. Plus, Beshear attacked him with the abortion issue.

Beshear is one of the fakest people I have seen. Never forgot when he spied on people who went to church during COVID. He plays this nice guy in front of the cameras. He’s another raging liberal who supports Biden. He’s a goon
