The oral contraceptive pill might be affecting fear regulation in women’s brains | The team found the ventromedial prefrontal cortex was thinner than in men; this part of the brain is responsible for emotional regulation, such as decreasing feelings of fear in safe situations.

quote:

The team compared the brains of women who currently use the combined oral contraceptive pill, women who had used it in the past, women who had never used them, and men. In women who currently use the pill, the team found the ventromedial prefrontal cortex was thinner than in men; this part of the brain is responsible for emotional regulation, such as decreasing feelings of fear in safe situations.

Women are already all over the place, now we are seeing one reason they are even more erratic now.

Birth control + social media = full retard

Perfectly explains the past 40 years but they were a little less retarded before social media.

It's more this IMO.

But I suspect women have been acting irrationally since caveman times, so maybe it's just in their DNA.

That’s interesting

The birth control pill was clearly bad for society. The way it changes how women select mates will have long term negative effects, for example.

social media
I've been saying for a while now that social media is going to have negative long-term impacts on society that no one is prepared for.

It has been one of the greatest failed social experiments in human history. Unfortunately, it is fully embedded in our society and there is no removing it. Shut down Facebook, Instagram, etc. and ten more will rise to replace them.

birth control
I am certainly no scientist, but it seems like there is a lot more difficulty in conceiving children naturally since the pill was introduced. Not sure if causation or correlation, but it seems to me like when you try to play God without fully appreciating the consequences, long term effects happen.

Birth control is so normalized and accepted that no western women would ever in a million years accept how damaging it is over the long haul. You will not impede their ability to sleep with 500 men between age 15 and 30.

Could explain why women freak out when they are passengers in cars and the car- 100 feet in front of them, puts on their brakes

Further proof the 19th Amendment was a mistake of biblical proportions and feminism is bringing about the collapse of our civilization.

This hypothesis makes a lot of sense, actually. I can’t tell you how many you g women have told me how anxious they feel in totally safe situations. Their anxiety gets so great that they feel like they’re being hunted for sport while just shopping for groceries. They know this fear is irrational, but they can’t switch it off.

I would like to see more research done to continue to test this theory.

But… no babies

Idk. I’m probably less fearful in life than I should be.

Many women (and modern men) love safety nets, and are paralyzed in fear if they do not have them.

hmmmmmm, birth control comes out right around the time broads started getting mouthy and trying to extend their sphere of control past the kitchen. They lost the fear and called the mans bluff
