Which I’m definitely not doing.

Never said it would be hard to find. Just saying there is still an effort that has to be made to find my business and contact me.

For a local business, having a good Google Business page with fresh, interesting content is usually more effective than a typical static, contractor website that offers nothing more than some pictures of your past jobs and your phone number.

Your Google Business page shows up on Google Maps (GPS), collects customer reviews, and can be linked to paid Google advertising if you choose - and you don't have to pay a web developer, constantly update the software, worry about the site getting hacked or the developer who has your passwords going out of business.

My IT team referred us to High Level Thinkers when we were having some website issues beyond their capabilities.

If you just want a cheap marketing webpage with a contact form, I would just use something like squarespace. If you want something a bit prettier and more performant (better SEO rankings as well since wix/squarespace get nerfed by googled algorithm), go on fiver and hire an indian to make you a Next.js/React site. Everyone knows React now so finding people to work on it in the future would be easy. You just need a simple single page app. Whatever option you go with, just make sure you own the domain and hosting account itself (you can use Vercel and host for free). Don’t let a third part guy have full control of that and hold you hostage over things you may want updated/“maintenance fees”.

Let us know how many leads you got from this free advertising. Chicken will likely send you an invoice.

As someone in the middle of building a pool and someone who recently helped family get their website and google maps listing up and ranked for their water well business, you definitely need something besides a facebook page.

I would suggest a website, social media, keyword marketing, and google maps/business marketing.

For keyword marketing and google marketing, I would avoid the radio/tv station route, I saw their prices and it was shocking.

It all depends on your budget and how much you want to spend a month on marketing. But once you get your stuff together, make sure you are getting the reviews as high as you can, it makes a huge difference.

GoDaddy is an easy website if you want to build it yourself. You need to put some budget behind search (SEO) and a smaller budget in social. Social is cheap. You can get a lot of ads for around $1k. You can also put videos on YouTube. The more you put up the more you'll index and your Google ads will pop up more frequently.

you should be able to afford a web site company with your 35% markups bro.

35% mark-ups? How the hell do you expect him to stay in business like that??? That's a 25.93% margin which may look good until you consider business property ownership or rental, vehicles with associated maintenance, taxes, and repairs, business license and insurance, workers comp, and all the other stuff associated with running a business with all the ever-increasing government fees on everything.

i 100000000000000000000000000000000% recommend NOT spending a penny with Google Ads.

Google no longer gives a flying shite about small businesses. Stay very far away or you will be just pissing money down the drain trying to advertise with google ads
