What are the odds of a rental car smash and grab Friday at lunch time?

Is it still a 30 min shuttle ride with Laquondra to the rental car place?

The airport setup there sucks

Park in a garage. You'll be fine.

It'd probably be cheaper/quicker to taxi/Uber/Lyft to the Quarter and back than to pay for a rental.

Dragos in Metairie is really good. Or used to be, a lot of places changed after the China bug. Kenner Seafood on Loyola and near the airport is good too. I And Seithers Seafood in Harahan is popular.

Stay out of the 1/4…go to Cafe Degas or another French restaurant.

There is absolutely no reason to go eat in the quarter if you are just going for a quick lunch and are heading out to an opposite direction after. In addition to generally average restaurants that’s you will pay more for, you will have to pay to park.

Post a real thread on the Food board asking for some specifics on what you are looking for.

Find a close parking garage and just hope for the best. If you're getting a rental and driving anywhere in NOLA, get the extra insurance.

Why the Quarter?

Gianna, Desi Vega's or Peche are much better options than anything in the Quarter

An outstanding lunch option not too far from the airport (with a much lower risk of getting jacked than the FQ) is The Galley on Metairie Rd in Metairie between Bonnabel and Causeway. Excellent taste of New Orleans options, always fresh in season boiled seafood ready to order, great po-boys and traditional favorites on the menu along with fresh catch specials every day. And if any beer is to be consumed their Abita Amber comes out in a frozen goblet with a nice little layer of ice floating on top. C'est si bon!

honestly id go to katies, parkway tavern or cafe degas and skip the 1/4.

But im more biased toward mid-city. And I find it easy to leave the city from there as well.
