I actually identified an ex girlfriend on Reddit. We dated for a few years about 20 years ago and we're both veterans and frequented the same subreddit. One of the posts sounded eerily familiar and sure enough, it was her. She used her same AOL screen name as her Reddit name.
I went back on some of her previous posts and I couldn't find anything about me, guess I wasn't that important.

A guy I was friends with back in high school posts on TD but never in the OT section. Usually in Tiger Rant and Saints Talk. I just searched for my high school and saw he posted where he lives now(different state far away). Not really interested in reconnecting tbh
Also, you can Google search user names and find out where else they post. Most people use the same name for everything, just like passwords.

Yes. He’s not someone I know but I do know his mother and he gave so much information about her that she was easily identifiable.

How do you deal (i.e. manage your anonymity) with the fact you've been posting for 15 years, back when your kid was 5, and now they are 20, and can read your post history.
