This. How would I be able to flaunt my air of superiority if everyone gave as much shite as I did?

Airports went to hell on January 5, 1973, when the FAA first required metal-detector screening of all passengers.

Now you have some specificity. Your first statement didn't. Which is it? In general, or just at the airport? And again, you do to some extent. You're just pretending that you don't (for some reason).

I'd rather go to the zoo.

I flew weekly for years until about 5 years ago. I am over it.

I'd be ok to skip the airport for the rest of my life.

Airline travel, like any mass travel now a days is legit terrible. Not because of the product, although airlines make it worse with the way they do things, but because of the people, and the deterioration of any standards.

Thank a democrat for this.

Flew Breeze Airways recently to RDU. The whole experience was extremely frictionless. My fellow passengers were considerate and quiet. My checked bag was just rounding the carousel in the five minutes it took me to get to baggage claim after deboarding. The website was also a pleasure to use. My only complaint would be the lack of snacks provided, but it was not a long flight, so no big deal.

Breeze is great
My parents live in Rogers AR I can fly RT from MSY 85 bucks each way for a 1.5 hr flight. Super comfortable planes and the smaller airports they fly into are great

Travel by air used to be something special. The airlines strived to make it pleasant with spacious seating, in flight meals, courteous attendants, etc. Then the seats started getting crammed together to fit more people on board and lower the cost of travel by offering more seats. The attendants are essentially cattle herders with first aid training. You might have a beverage offered during the flight, and a package of four or five peanuts to go along with it.

With the whole experience being turned into basic bus travel by air, is it any wonder that folks show up in gym clothes and pajamas with snot-nosed rug rats leaving Cheerios crumbs all over the place?

It's not just airports and public transportation anymore. It's the whole damned country. There is no sense of decorum related to anything anymore. Nothing is special. The whole thing has become common and profane.

(I'm gonna be a really awesome grumpy, old coot in about ten more years!)

Kids are rarely the issue with air travel in my experience

I don't fly often, but I avoid any flights from MSY with a stop in Atlanta. Seeing a trashy dispute with the flight attendant is unavoidable on that flight.

No need to quote everything you wrote. I just wanted to comment- "Well said."

You nailed it.

You get what you pay for.

Given what it costs to fly, I'm honestly surprised it's as bad as it is now. Can't imagine raising prices would impact it that much.

Essentially.

I don't have the problems being described here when I fly.

I’m currently in seat 1E. I can’t see all the poor peasants behind me. I wonder what they look like? It’s a different world behind the drapes or so I’ve heard.

My world got rocked by watching this dude get up out of his seat multiple times with his gym shorts down around his knees. The entire flight his bare arse is touching the seat and he gave zero fricks. I suppose I should be grateful he had the decency to pull them up before strolling down the aisle.

Society is devolving because we let women run everything now. Feminism and equality are fricking stupid.
