Looks like Samsung is the leader and main player in this market. Anyone have any experience or recommendations?

Currently looking at this one

My neighbor has one and it still looks like a tv. Just save the money.

I considered getting a Frame.

Went by Best Buy to look - salesman showed me the frame vs Samsungs other offerings. Frame wasn’t as bright or as sharp.

The other Samsungs will do the picture display - they just lack the motion sensor feature that the Frame has.

I got the QN85 which I’m very happy with. Considered the Sony OLED as well, but my room has windows so it’s pretty bright and the OLEDs aren’t as bright as the QLEDs.

I did set up the app and do the picture display a few times, but probably haven’t used that feature in the last year.

This was close to 2 years ago, so the Frames may have been updated by now….

I have an 85inch Frame TV. It’s amazing. The picture is great and the Art mode is a game-changer.

Cannot WAIT to watch my Tigers play on it tonight.

The current ones with a matte screen do look pretty close to framed art if you spend the extra money on a frame bezel

Considering the cost of them though, the tv itself should come with better specs (mini LED, local dimming , etc) that the QN85/90/95's have

Edit: I recently bought and installed one in a bedroom. The one connect box is nice but may take some extra planning to install cleanly

I LOVE the way the frame looks but to me, picture quality comes first. so I simply couldn’t go with the Frame. my wife was kinda pissed bc it was going over the mantle in our new house. (last January).

ultimately settled on LG G2. absolutely LOVE it.
thinnest profile I could find. the whole thing protrudes from the wall maybe 1.5 inch. pretty remarkable honestly.

that said, when the TV is off, I do think the Frame looks a little more appealing and very nice. picture on the LG is 50% better IMHO.

You can make it look like art so long as you’re looking at it relatively dead on. I have mine (2022 model) mounted 90deg to the side of the room (unfortunately my OT baller living room has 120 deg windows and it can’t be mounted from where you enter) and you can tell it’s a TV. We keep it in art mode a lot, have the white frame, and have other art mounted near it with almost the exact frame color.

I think officially you can’t put the tiny wire in the wall, but I put the tiny wire in the wall.

Would be really great if you used the tvs speakers, then you could run the tiny wire to a hidden closet, so a tv stand or speakers wouldn’t give it away. (I have a sonos setup and the sound bar is a big clue that it’s a TV)

For my bedroom, I installed an in wall enclosure for it

You're not "supposed" to run the wire in the wall by itself, but you should be fine. you could run the one connect wire in flex conduit if you needed to

That’s a good idea. Thought it’d be terrible to have to add a hdmi cable, or do something else, but realized I rarely ever touch the box.

I have one and it’s beautiful as a display but as a tv it’s meh. When displaying art, most are legit fooled.

Have one, bought the after market frame for it and it does fool a lot of people, which I didn't think would be the case.

Picture is fine for 99% of the world. Screen is super matte so very low reflection which makes it great for bright rooms.

We got one last December. We also got the magnetic bezel to go around it. I think the art mode is well above average. The design of our living room forced us to put the tv over the fireplace and my wife did not want a big, black rectangle there all the time. TV picture quality is fine to me, but I am not TV obsessed like some.

Wife likes ours. Its mostly used for art but occasionally we will put the TV on if we have company and are sitting in that room. Picture is fine for what it is. The processing power and speed of navigation pisses me off constantly.

We just use the art mode and it is awesome. It is right around the corner from the main tv, so one would not expect it to be one.

disagree. The TV is designed to present art in a way that looks extremely realistic. Your friend is doing it wrong or he set it up on a way that makes it obvious it's a TV.

See the post above this one.

Got one for my bedroom. I love it. Damn frame was 600 bucks though.

there's a whole cottage industry of people who make the magnetic frames with every material and color known to mankind.

Séura is another option, though it serves as mirror when off. My neighbor likes his, but they are pricey.

I used to have Seura TV. It was great. Unless you looked really, really closely at it you'd just think it was a mirror on the wall.
