Why does a portion of the American female population desperately want kids

But then they constantly complain about all of the responsibilities that come with being a parent?
I mean, I get it if you didn't really want kids and it happened but I'm talking more about the middle/upper class group who has made a conscious attempt to have kids and wanted them so bad.
I'm about to turn 30 and seeing this more and more with people in my age group, the SAHM's are the absolute worst, especially some who I would say have it pretty easy in the grand scheme of things, overall.
I don't have kids and I realize some complaining is normal, it's how we blow off steam but it just seems wild to me that you have what you claimed to want so bad yet you constantly bitch, whine, and complain about it. I'm sure social media has amplified this quite a bit.

I’m sure it can be overwhelming to have 2 or 3 small kids. We only had one, so it was never too bad.

There is a line that I have heard here previously that you could take a group of women and pay them each $1M in salary to drink wine and write reviews about it but within a couple of weeks they would be complaining about how undervalued and underappreciated they are in their role.
People like to complain regardless of where they are in life.

Also, it can't be any worse than having 10 kids in the Great Depression or something, I don't know, it just seems like people are so soft now.
We have it so easy compared to much of the world today and much of history.

They are biologically programmed to want to produce offspring. At the same time, feminism in this country has told them for decades to “live your best life” and only care about yourself. Pretty hard to successfully do both. On top of that, add countless social media sites of people portraying how great their life looks on the outside and you end up with an entire generation of stressed out, depressed women.

3rd wave feminism has convinced a large majority of women that they can have it all devil may care. Rack up a body count in your 20s and early 30s while you chase the C suit queen, then a man will come grovel to you! Of course this flies in the face of reality and now they’re cashing those checks.

They see a constant series of social media posts from their friends/peers showing different ones enjoying the childless life or vacationing somewhere fun. That becomes reality to them. In their minds, everyone is always doing something fun except them. It’s social media distortion.
